Everything happens for a reason. Trust me on that one. Sometimes you may never know the reason, but it happens anyway. Get better, look for another job while your home laying around sick as a dog and then get your **** back to work...It always works out.

Good luck and get well soon.

This is scary. Yesterday, I had to agree with UC a couple of times, now I am agreeing with Brew. I need a vacation!

Werd. Sometimes doors to the future slam shut in your face. There's a reason for it. Something better WILL eventually come along. Your young, take your time and think it through. Don't be in such a hurry. And never under-qualify yourself for a certain job "in your own mind". That's where alot of people mess up a golden opportunity.

If it makes you feel better, I disagree with Brew. This whole, "everything happens for a reason" BS is just a cop-out to make you feel better. Truth is; poop happens. Move on.

Yep, but even poop happens for a reason.

"Everything happens for a reason"

I would do the same.

And if I had an employee call in sick the first day, I would fire them unless they were in the hospital or were the only qualified applicant for the job.

And if I felt the need to rationalize the firing of a sicker persion, I would tell myself "Everything happens for a reason - obviously I was not meant to invest my resources in training this person. They probably would have quit on me sooner rather than later"

Why can't you apply again with an explanation. Take the next training session. If it is a revolving door they will need more people soon.

Yeah, those sumbychez are pretty inflexible with workers that are callign in sick, late, etc and you're in your first weeks/days...

A former employee of mine, who had been laid off, applied at, and was accepted by (A major telephone company), More *Major* than mine... When he went to training, sure enough 3-4 more peopel from our company were there training too. One of the girls that left our company was in his class, and she was a habitual sick-day rider here.

Long story short, after 2-3 days of trainig, she showed up late claiming to be sick, and got released on the spot.

Gives a whole new look to the term "At Will Employer" state; (Texas).

Thank GOD my company ain't like that, or I would have either: A.) Had to get my schyt together, and my **** into work 15-20 minutes early. or B.) Been fired a long time ago.

There are perks to being salaried... We don't get any extra pay when we have to be here 2, 3, 4 hours late either...

every job i have ever had i always show up on time to and am never late. i usually show up 10-15 min early. but ive been screwed over at alot of places... and learned if the employer doesnt have the respect to give u a break when u have a legit reason for not being able to make it in that day. then they arent worth working for. and im gladd i found this out now wrather than few weeks or months from now. i heard from a friends and other people on forums that spehrion is known for screwing people over like they did with me and dell is starting to work with other employement agencies who treat people better and are more flexible because the way spherion does all the hiring and firing they are giving dell a bad image. but yeh ill take loosing a job over my health anyday. just like family comes before a job. so does health..
