Try keeping the ball away from a guy who is
1: Faster than you
2: Historically and Generally speaking, taller than you as well
3: You cannot impede his path
4: The unpenalized tackling area is 25% of his body, so most of your options
are out
5: You get 15 feet of advantage and he gets up to 142 feet of advantage
over you
6: While running backwards with your vision obscured try sensing when the
ball is coming and then reach, but don't touch him or your team is
penalized
7: In fact in the end the only thing you have going for you is sometimes the
momentum you carry will allow the hit to hurt you only slightly less than
the opponent. Drag a 6'1" 209 lb. friend to the ground while he is running
and I guarentee by the end of five minutes you will hurt almost as much as
he will.

The above stated is just what a cornerback has to go through on the average of sixty times in a two and a half hour period. Can you imagine having to process information while partially blinded and then destroying the team's morale when penalized for something you did because you could not see. It takes more than brute strength and speed to jump three or four feet in the air to catch a ball the size of a human head and considering that once that ball is caught you are now a target for up to 11 human beings.

Oh and for Kobi, that was the World Cup, which is much better play than what you will see for the next four years. MLS is nothing compared to that, in fact it's a joke.

I had more but I'm self editing so it will stay at rant and not drift to the missive catgory.

Dont get me wrong, Im the biggest American football fan, and truly enjoy come september but MLS is still very crazy by itself.

American football does have huge yet some overweight players, but if you watched the Italy vs France final, how many fat guys did you see. MLS players are one of the highest paid sports players in the world only behind F1 drivers.

MLS world cup was amazing to see what individual talents people had. And with the final going 90 mins + 2 ot (30 mins) and into shootouts... very intense, very cool!

I think you misunderstood what I meant to Kobi, it seems this is first real experience with the World Cup which is light years beyond Major League Soccer our american soccer league that plays every year. The guys are good but just sheer numbers dictate that they aren't great, especially on the global scale.

Oh and the fat guys on NFL teams are the offensive line and some defensive line positions......................................... ....and a few kickers.

As oppose to runnning it in to an end zone that I could cut doughnuts in a semi in.
Or the slightly smaller goal post that had to be lowered just a few years ago, That I could back an RV through? Granted they are a whole 4 foot narower than soccer goals, but punts are not blocked by defense either and they still have a hard time getting it through.

lol

The one on the left has a cute face, but still looks like she might hurt me and could make me start calling for my mommy.

Where did you read "no athletic ability" in all of that?

I was thinking the same thing, then I realized he was projecting.
(Hence the call for the need of glasses)

I'm not sure motocross isn't number one. Soccer is 90 minutes of almost constant activity, running jumping kicking... There are a few breaks though. Motocross is 30 minutes of constant struggling to maintain control of 230lbs and 50+ horsepower over very demanding terrain and while flying 20-30 in the air. Not the mention the elbows, handlebars, footpegs and other hard sharp objects you might run into. I know that I can't hang with professionals in either sport or American Football so they all get my respect. They get paid to play for a reason.
