pfc bradbury funeral

Wish me luck.
Saturday I have to do something I never would have dreamed in a million years Id have to do. Block protestors of a military funeral. Dont know if you have ever heard of FRED PHELPS of westboro topeka kansas But he and his followers disrupt/cuss/yell terrible things about how god hates america/soldiers/fa*s ect.....

My small town only has 250 people in it and we hve never dealt with anything like this before. THere is a group called PATRIOT GROUP that is coming to help they are a biker organization that is used to dealing with this but only come if the family of the fallen soldier request it.

Any way im gonna need prayers/strength to be able to "just stand there" with my 3X5 american flag blocking the protestors from the view of the grieving family. I know this is a free country, I served it proudly during the first DESERT STORM, but damn this just is not right.

No need to comment, just wanted prayers for the family and the folks that are gonna have to keep a level head.

It is such an embarrassment that American citizens can not be more sensitive than that. They have a right to their beliefs and a right to protest even if I disagree with their position. That is just not the place for their protest. Good luck.

There's a member here called OnBelay, who I believe is a member of the Patriot group. I don't believe he has a bike, but look fo a black Ford F-150. He's been to a few of these soldier funeral protests, and he takes it ver seriously. I personally think Phelps should be strung up, but as a military member myself, I give hime the right to spit on the graves of my fallen comrades... Makes me sick to my stomach... [/rant]

To the family of Pfc Bradbury, my deepest condolances and prayers for your son. You can take pride in the fact that he died doing what he thought was the right thing, and no one can take that away from him. We all owe him a debt of gratitude for his service. You will all be in my families prayers.

I'm sure everything will go smoothly.

Those people are worthless.

What an honor safeguarding that soldier's funeral.

For everything said so far in this thread -

X2X2X2X2X2X2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang that Phelps, Cindy Sheehan, Baldwin, Clooney, Sarandon, and most of the rest of Hollywood.

Some people act like they are not bright enough to really understand WHAT they believe in.

Those guys in our US Military fought and sometimes died for their right to be free to be and act like such arsewholes.

The only thing I can see he is "offbase" on is his spelling of the last word.

This thread is about protesting US Servicemans funerals.
If my name was so casually thrown into such an accusation I would ask for just cause.

You know there is none.
Do not become Phelps by using 'Phelps like' tactics.

These clowns protested my very good friend's funeral in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Expect to see signage similar to:

"God Bless IEDs"
"Burn in Hell Fa**ot Soldier"
"God Loves IEDs"
"Another Bad Man Gone"
"Rot in Hell"

It's all you're going to be able to do to keep from knocking someone out. Trust me. I was enraged. They were at the entrance to the grave yard as well as outside the church during the memorial service.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Bush recently sign into law a 'no protest at funerals' law?

RIP PFC Bradbury... PFC Hayes

There is a funeral in Omaha tomorrow. Heard that the jack@$$ group will be there as well. Also heard the Patriot Riders will be honoring this serviceman and his family. Will have to see what I'm doing tomorrow. Might have to take my motorcycle or truck and stand with the Patroit Riders. Don't know if I'd be able to keep out of jail though. I've not served, but, man, I know I owe my freedoms to the brave men & women of the United States Armed Forces.

This 'man' (I use the term loosely) and group someday will know what it's like to burn in hell. They can sit next to Zarqaui and play bridge.

Rockpick,,
I dont know much about them laws. I was just asked to be there at 11:45 and be ready to either salute a flag, put my hand over my heart, or hold a flag. Like I said my town is so small you cant even get a gallon of milk without driving 30 miles round trip. We have never had anything like this before and because of that Im really stupid to any of the facts. I sure hope they are gone by the time the family showes up... The furneral is at word of life church in st joe missiouri at 11:00 am, then the he will be layed to rest in White cloud Kansas which is about 50 miles east. the patriot group will attend both and be somewhat of an escort if I understood right. All I plan on doing is being at that entrance of the cementary holding the flag proudly

...and that was intentional.

These people do little to support our troops.

Whether we believe in it or not, whether we agree with it or not, we (the USA) IS at war, and we need to support the troops that are over there, and respect the families who have lost loved ones, especially at the funeral of the soldier and Hero.

We can show how we feel about the politicians in the proper forum and in the voting booth...
