Not sure why I can't celebrate though, even though I live in Canada now, I'll still be flag waving and celebrating (pretty much just like every other day).
None of my post was directed at you, FordWask... Sorry.

It was directed at the moron that needs to be shipped to Mexico...

That 17 yr old "moron" is certainly getting a civics lesson here.

Pay taxes, obey the law, participate in the political process, maintain high moral caliber but, don't know the words to the song, get the hell out of 'our' country.

Lie, cheat, steal and know the friggin song = American.

nuclearthreat54, it's a pretty good song, tugs at the heartstrings and all. If you have limited recall you would be better served memorizing the Preamble to the Constitution.

I know you didn't but, if the consensus is to kick out every person who doesn't know the words (2/3rds according to the article) then the Parades will be a lot shorter and my taxes will go up.

Don't just yell at him. Help the guy.

my eyes if you can

Yeah, that too...

Everyday, I come across Mexican's in my town that are just rattling off in Mexican in public and I feel like telling them to speak English, but don't... What's wrong with me?

What bothers me more is when they're blabbing on to their children in Mexican in public. Shouldn't they be learning English as a primary language? Teach them to speak English, then, for heritage and in the home (AFTER they have the English language MASTERED) learn their native language.

Finding out that 2/3 of the country do not know the words to the song is very disheartening, this statement just makes me sad

hey, i'm not American nor do i know the words to your national anthem...but I remember in elementary school, we had to sing O'Canada every morning while standing beside our desks!! I'm only 21 so it was to terribly long ago. They should bring that into all schools again in Canada and the USA. That would solve all your guys's problems with no one knowing the lyrics. Personally in my everyday life you would never have to use them...but just in case you are scrolling the F150 board it might just come in handy!
