At work they tease me about my ford and call me ford boy.

But they are all upgrading their motors, 383 crate motors. shopping for super chargers fro their z-71;s , redoing cams and heads etc..

They all want to be faster than me. he he he truck is in the shop getting a ported blower and a few other bits...
Just gotta raise the bar on those guys..

Well, I was refering to his assertion that men who call other names have small dukers. I figured that maybe the blown motor / high horsepower / pissing contests fit right in with that line of reasoning.

I know where you’re coming from. A guy where I work at, who I since had to let go, spent well over $145,000 to finally enable himself a shot at beating my Lightning. Stupid flucker still couldn’t beat my Lightning:

(2001 or 2 ?) Honda S2000 - $40,000 LOST to Lightning
(2004) Chevy SSR - $55,000 LOST to Lightning
(2005) Chevy Corvette - $52,000 LOST to Lightning

Price of vehicles for him = $147,000
Price of vehicle for me = $27,500 completely stock

Price of the expression on his face when I beat his Vette = Priceless

Had he actually known how to drive a stick and actually knew how to launch a Vette he could have beat me BUT after 3 attempts and losing all of them he had to leave. Apparently he was a little concerned with a funny smell coming from the vehicle I believe it was “clutch”…

that is not the problem..

I like the power and handling of the lightning, but after a while it is not enough and it is really easy to get so much more out of it. and I am doing just that. The truck was stock the first year, lightly modded the second year and now in the third year, I am going as far as i dare on the stock block.

I find it funny that they are playing catch the lightning.

Come on now, I dug your post about your wife but can't say the same for this one. Guess I'm one of those unfun wheelers. We both have to worry about breaking crap but only you have to worry about speeding tickets

I'm sorry, I refuse to spend 30,000+ on a truck just so i can roll it over. Only thing 4wd is good for is neccessity, like snow, or if you live on a dirt road or farm. Unless you are made of money IMHO it doesnt make sense to take a 30,000 vehicle "off-road"

See the guard-house on the left?

It was once inhabited by a couple of those same "Chevy Guys"...
Every night I had to stop and wait for these two idiots to lift the arm to let me out. All the while listening to them hoot and holler about their bad assed chevy's.
In the five years that I have owned this Lightning I have only power braked her to exteme one time. It was for those two clowns.
It will always be one of my fondest memories...
Looking back and no longer being able to see the shack...It was completly buried in a cloud of smoke
