I was thinking.........

hey, it could happen

What if Einstein is wrong? I mean, think about it. Everything that we know to be true would be changed forever as far as physics go. Am I correct? Everything we know is all based on theories. What if there is a number off? Why cant we figure out "what caused the big bang"?

Just pondering....damn Science channel.

^ No one? vader? Kobi?

Ok, what about this? I found this here.

What if Black Holes aren't Really Holes after All?

In conventional physics, light simply falls into a black hole—just like anything else that wanders too near those chasms in space-time—and never comes out again. That doesn't happen in João Magueijo's universe.

According to his calculations, if the varying speed of light theory turns out to be right, light comes to a full stop at the very edge of the black hole; it freezes and never enters the hole. Moreover, since nothing can travel faster than the speed of light—even in Magueijo's theory—all other motion halts at the black hole's surface too. Nothing falls in. So black holes aren't really holes after all.

"A black hole is like an edge to space," Magueijo explains. "Nothing can come out, but nothing can go in either."

If an unlucky astronaut traveling along a cosmic string were to swerve near a black hole, the spaceship would seem to move more and more slowly. The black hole would remain forever in the distance, an unreachable obstacle.

Interesting, no?

No. Reality does not exist just because Einstein had theories. If Hawking woke up tomorrow and proved that everything Einstein theorized to be wrong, nothing in the past will have changed, we'd still be here writing on this forum, and tomorrow you will still go to work and I will play golf. Any theory about the nature of the universe does not change the nature of the universe, only how those who waste time theroizing about it view it.

"What if there is a number off?"

See Above

"Why cant we figure out "what caused the big bang"?"

Maybe they can't prove it becasue it never happened. Maybe it did. It's only a theroy (that ultimately can not be proven or disproven).

If you want to ponder the REALLY BIG QUESTIONS, I've got plenty.

Here's one:

If you make a cow laugh, will milk come out its nose?

That doesn't explain the intense light and x-ray emissions found surrounding black holes. The light is likely due to the increased speed, heat, and friction given off as items caught in the gravitational pull of the BH. If everything stopped than x-rays wouldn't be expelled from the BH either.

At least from what I know..

If a distance can always be divided in half mathematically, how can you touch anything?

Well, you can't touch mathematically, in the tactile sense, so I guess it's all good.
