Bacon

I love it...it's like natures candy. Thin crispy strips of thinly sliced dead pig side, sizzling in a cast iron frying pan. It evokes primal urges in my gut. I'm not too picky about the brand, but I prefer thick cut bacon to the 1mm thick stuff you get with cheaper packages.

On a bacon egg or cheese sammich, by itself, or on a BLT sammich, club sammich, whatever, bacon has the ability to make most anything better.

Just don't eat too much of it without proper exercise or your cardiologist will end up with another Beamer.

Tonight's side dish... Fresh green beans, blanched and then fried with pancetta (Italian bacon) and freshly minced garlic...

Thick sliced bacon and scrambled egg sammich on white bread with some Miracle Whip or Hellmans mayo. Make about half a dozen of them and put them in a brown paper bag. Take a thermos full of fresh black Maxwell House coffee early in the morning. Bring fishing pole, jump in the boat and go fishing....

Had me a half-dozen slices of bacon, along with a link or two of sausage, down at the breakfast buffet this morning at the hotel I am staying at. Now my tummy hurts because I'm not used to indulging in such greasy food like that!

Naw, thick sliced bacon, fried egg (over well done) and a slice of cheese on white toast with Miracle Whip... And then fishin' ... Yeah, sounds like the start of a good day...

Don't know if anyone else has tried this, but next time you make waffles slip a couple of pieces of bacon on top of the mix just before you lower the lid... Ends up being baked inside the waffle. Mmmmm good.

It's all about perspective. I guess I was just born a little more carnivorous than some.

I've known Jews and 7th Day Adventists that were rather fond of those thin crispy strips.

BLT, I really wanted that for dinner after reading this thread & seeing a few cooked strips of bacon in the fridge, but there was not enough

Improvise young padiwan! Make 1/2 a sammich instead of a whole one. Or just go buy more bacon.

Oh, yeah! BLT's on toasted white bread with tons of bacon and crisp lettuce and tomato with some black pepper...smushed together and oh yeah...I think I know what I want for a snack I can eat like four or five in a sitting.
