I have no special love for the girl; but, anybody that's labeled white trash by the media, because they're a little too down home and southern to fit in with the snobs, gets a little sympathy. Being filthy rich is probably more of a comfort though.
Having the where-withall to not smoke with your kids in the car is not being a snob--it's being educated. I'm sure lots of behavior could easily be brushed off by simply stating "That's how it was when I was a kid" but the real world doesn't hold that in much regard. Sure I remember when seatbelts were optional/extra So where air bags and helmets, but we are now an educated populous that should not tolerate the hedonist attitude of a young hollywoodite. The fact is, if she had been any average Jane, her kids would be in social services care by now. More to the point---any descent person, southern or not, would not solicit media outlets to publicly point the finger at an oft used scapegoat.

They have ridden in the back of my pickup truck. I pulled their sleds with my truck. I have let them drive sitting on my lap. Not everything was done on a highway either.

When our boys played baseball flak vests had to be available to use if the parents wanted them because of possible injury. Give me a break. You can't make your childs life accident proof.
That's how I feel. It's not like I'm sitting here saying, poor Britney. But we all make mistakes one time or another. None of us know her personally, so we really can't sit here and judge her.

BTW....the chewing gum part bothered me too.

BTW...just so you all know, I started a thread awhile back about how awful it was that she was driving with her baby in her lap. However, we are all entitled to change our opinions.

I did get the feeling that she is growing up somewhat. But if it's that bad, get out of Hollywood. Make it harder for the jerks to find her. Raise her kids in small town America and fly to Hollywood when she needs to.

I agree that smoking around a child should be illegal. My parents smoked and I hated it. And if I said anything, my Father would threaten to beat my A$$. I couldn't even get him to roll down the window of the car.

x2 on the chewing gum thing. Everytime I would start to feel her pain, she would start smacking the gum.

Britney and her handlers are the ones that opened the fame and fortune floodgates.

They wanted the paparazzi all over the pregnanacy to keep her public and relevant so they could continue to sell posters and pictures and older records.

Its also keeps her top-of-mind for when she does decide to come back to music.

But she is finding out that you cant turn fame on and off light alightswitch.

Because guaranteed, in 2 years when Federline has spent all of her money and she needs more, she will want the paparazzi back to hype her for that new record.

Too bad her talent is extremely limited...limited to copying Janet Jackson, Madonna and Michael Jackson...all of whom are no longer relevant...
