Tony Roma's, Plano, TX: (WTF Happened?)

Man, after a hard days work, I decided to treat the family to some Tony Roma's. I had my mouth all set for a plate for of the Roma-Portion bountiful Beef ribs, and when we arrived at the resurant, it was surprisingly dark (Especially for a Friday).

They had already closed the Tony Roma's off of Preston & Park in Plano 2-3 years ago, but they kept the one on 75 Central & Park. Now, they are both closed.

Those resturants were always packed with people, especially on the weekends. Does anyone know what happened, or why Tony closed shop in Plano? Are they still open downtown? (Dallas)

We ended up settling for some TGI Friday's baby-back ribs. I can't stand Chili's (atmosphere) and Bennigans is usually harder to get into than TR.

Man, in case you can't tell- I'm a little disappointed...

WTF's up Tony?

I got some dry ice I can send you, to ship'em back to me!

I had an employee and friend who was from Philly; he flew back there from time to time, and when he'd come back he'd bring me 2-4 of those philly cheesesteak "sammiches", and or a mixture of them with other kinds of submarine styles sandwiches.

Man, he was right- subway can't touch a real Philly cheesesteak sandwich.

I heard Chicago had the best pizza, but I haven't seen Chicago since 1980. I've got to try it one day. I've had real new York Cheesecake from "Junior's" in Brooklyn...

Well Maryland has some of the best crabs and crab cakes you'll find anywhere...

On your next Tony Roma's shipment I'll throw a dozen Chesapeake Bay crabs and some Old Bay seasoning.

A similar thing happened to us a couple of months ago. No more Tony Roma's in Tulsa.

Not really a Yankee thing... it's a rib joint.

Tony Roma's is a GREAT PLACE.

FYI - YEARS ago they got into trouble with the Feds. The Guvment had to operate all these rib restaurants and keep them open until it was straightened out.

I believe that a LOT of them are now franshises as opposed to Company owned locations...

Remember the onion rings that came in the shape of a brick ???

I hate ribs and Tony Romas. The best BBQ comes out of my smoker anyways. And don't get any ideas of inviting yourselves over!
