Not quite sure what you mean with the first paragraph? I got no problem with Brew or LT, none whatsoever, if that's what you're getting at. I simply don't like when ANYONE tells me that I'm not entitled to my opinion on something. That's the greatest thing about amendment #1. It doesn't matter if you like/agree with what someone else has to say, it's still their right to say/hold that opinion.

Like 6T6CPE said, Mt Laurel (it takes me about 30-40 minutes to get there) was all farm fields 20 years ago. Now, all the money from Philly has moved to the area and basically ruined it for the little guy. In fact, Moorestown, which is right next to Mt Laurel, is home to like 35% of the players from the 4 Philly pro teams. Moorestown was recently rated "Best Place To Live In The USA" for 2005 buy some organization. How they came to that conclusion mystifies me. The place is a hell hole of idiot yuppies in Land Rovers & BMW running around with their heads up their asses. The opened a Best Buy in Moorestown and you can't go 4 feet inside the store it's so crowded at all business hours.

I don't think I ever read anything more true that this^^^^.

2 years in Arizona, 4 years in OKC, 6 years on Long Island. Although I did love the Phoenix area I couldn't go back because it has grown way too much. Long Island is way too conjested and cut off from the rest of the world with people I can live without. I wouldn't mind moving back to OKC because it is dirt cheap and the people down right friendly. You get use to the tornados and the high winds.

When I left NJ in 72 I thought I would never be back. But here I am by the beach in S. Jersey and I love it down here!

KC if you're in the Willingboro area then you need to move east or north of WRI. I'd even try the Chatsworth area and you'd have a nice bike ride to work.

Doesn't the C-130s, C-5s and C-20s all have FE's? That opens up a lot of bases or you could cross train.

I'm nowhere near Wilingboro. I wouldn't live in Wilingboro if you paid me to. Browns Mills is bad enough. I'm 8 miles due south of KWRI.

All you NJ lovers will be enthused to know that, on Friday afternoon, I submitted my application for a FE position at Ramstein AB, Germany. They have two opening coming up in the near future. It will be a few months before I find out but rest assured, if I'm accepted, I will be straight the hell out of NJ so fast I'll leave wake turbulance. I would be so happy I'd be doing silly backflips in the middle of the street.

The C-5's are transfering all the A models to the Guard & Reserve so they are losing authorizations left & right. In fact, 14 guys in my squadron are from the C-5. If I wanted to go to the C-130, I could go AF Special Ops & be gone from McGuire in like 30 days. Problem is, those guys have like a 65% divorce rate & my wife already said she wouldn't be happy if I was gone even more than I am now. One of my friends at Hulburt Field, FL is gone 270-300 days a year. He's been divorced twice. While my wife does not dictate what I will do with my career, the AF is temporary. Hopefully, I will be with my wife for long after I retire. So going to the C-130 is not a realistic option for me. No matter how much I hate NJ, I love my wife & I'm not ruining my relationship just to leave the state. That would be just plain stupid.

Browns Mills isn't much different than Wrightstown. It's a typical area that is run down like many towns around other bases. You need to move 20 to 30 miles away from base. My experience with military towns is that the military was never welcomed even though the economy relies on it. People are more friendly to the GI's the further from base you live.

Don't expect cheap taxes in Germany and I wouldn't think it's gonna be easier to buy a handgun there than it is in Jersey. No Tasty Cakes, Wawa coffee or good subs/hoagies there either.

If you were to go C-130 do you have to go special ops? There is a C-130 base 5 miles from me in Central Arkansas (Little Rock AFB). I can guarantee that Arkansas is nothing like Jersey.

Pretty much the only places with openings on the C-130 are the Spec Ops. That's not to say there are no openings at C-130 bases, I just like flying turbo fan engine aircraft. In the AF, we refer to the C-130 as th "4 Fan Trash Can". It's kinda unfair considering that the C-130 is the hands-down best aircraft ever built. I just don't think I would enjoy flying in it. It my line of work, in order to live with the constant days away from home, you have to love what you do. I don't think I would love flying the C-130.

Incidently, the position I applied for at Ramstein AB is on the Gulfstream IV. There's only two of them in the entire USAF.

What he said... Hey 6, they opened a Primo's in Mt Holly. You ever tried them. I give them an enthusiastic

I lived in Germany for 5 years. They were the best 5 years of my life. While I enjoy certain luxuries & freedoms that only living in the US can afford me, I absolutely love Germany. It's a trade off. In NJ I can buy subs & cheesesteaks, in Germany I get to drive on the best roads on Planet Earth. I liked it so much that I brought back a souvenir, my wife. I only have a handfull of years before retirement so living in Germany for another few would kick *** and my wife would be off the scale crazy about the idea.

I understand what you are saying. The C-130 is loud, ugly and slow but is a fine airplane in its own right. Having lived in this area for 18+ years I know tons of AF folks but know very little about the inner workings of job transfers. I honestly have no clue as to what jobs are open and where, but was merely suggesting a possible place way different from what I think that Jersey would be like. Best of luck to you but I'll be honest I ain't too much on the G IV, or G anything for that matter. They are one of our biggest competitors.

We get a lot of Gulfstreams from Andrews but I don't know if they're IV's or V's.

I never heard of Primos. But I always liked King of Pizza and Sal's which use to be in the shopping center where the Mt Holly bypass ends. We use to call that the Grants or Channel Lumber shopping Center. I have no clue what's there now. Mt Holly always had good Pizza places. There was another good one across from the old Mt Holly movie theater downtown. But like the theater it's gone.

WTF is a "cheesesteak" I know steak, I grill them all the time. Why the hell would you put cheese on a steak? Cheese is for pizza, burgers and nachos, silly yankees.

The Gulfstreams from KADW are GIII's & GV's. The place I continually go to for pizza is King Of Pizza on Rt38 in Lumberton. I've know the owner's for 25 years. I believe Sal's is still there. There is still a pizza joint in the Fairgrounds plaza if it isn't Sal's then I'll have to check.
