need to vent
No worries Duke it is now in GD and the level of torment we regulars can lay on someone is enough to send them back to their old forums. You are right about RP though (shameless suck up of mod completed for June
)
You need a thick skin, quick wit, and sense of humor to survive here.
We'll toughen them up or ship them out.

Hey vent on, Sorry to hear about the mess your in. paying for services not rendered is wrong if not against the law. My son is having $ problems too, and I can only help him a small amount. You may even consider seeing a lawyer and have him/her give them a call, might be cheaper. In any case I hope you don't end up paying for it.
It seems that few of the real young ones(kids) can hack it in GD. Only the somewhat demented ones seem to survive and then thrive. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that most of the GD regulars are a bit demented? I bet there is something to be learned there!

Back to your originally scheduled topic:
I register (& canc) classes regularly online. The first thing I do is print the final page where it shows that I completed the task I was working on (both for registering & canceling). That way I always have back up & I don't get rid of it until the class is over (if that soon). Oh & same thing for payments made online.

Ok here are the two ways to fix this. Because I'm a nice guy and don't
1. Go to the registrar's office and/or student services and/or your guidance(academic) counselor (in college you should have one) and ask for a fees petition waiver. Usually you fill it out and right a paragraph about how you never signed up for the class or have attended.
Usually students are automatically dropped from the class if they don't show up the first day. Speak to them in a level manored unpaniced tone and explain your situation. More then likely they are actual humans and can understand and comprehend basic logic if you provide it in that manner. (not like you did hear, try to be more professional like a job interview or something)
2. [If #1 fails] Most ALL colleges have a "Student Legal Services". This department provides FREE legal services to students in need. Yes they'll even go on your side if you're going against the school. Trust me, I know. Worst case scenario they charge you $10 or $25 for writing a letter to the school and solving your problems.

In the future, always keep a copy of documentation for proof as Raydac suggested. Keep it until it is obviously no longer needed, then shred.

Duke......you are too nice....
....sorry to be an a$s...but i am one most of the time....
...if you came to me (and the rest of this forum) in a more calm and logical manner about your problem I would have given you some good advise on how to solve this problem (such as what Duke did)....
....but since you are going to knock on the simple rules of our beloved site....rules that make this place the great waste of time it is.....then all I have to say to you is <snip>......we don't need any more cry-babies and snot-nosed kids posting junk all over the place just because they are too lazy to follow our simple rules.......
.....that is my $0.02......and believe me....you don't seem to even deserve that much.....

If it had *ANYTHING* to do with an 04+ it would've been left alone... just because you never leave a certain forum doesn't mean that it's not viewed. It's pretty simple honestly -- the majority of the forums are for sharing information and helping eachother in a 'truck' frame of mind... this forum is for everything else.
This thread is part of the latter of those two very simple categories. Get over it.
This thread is part of the latter of those two very simple categories. Get over it.
with all that said I am going to meet with the teacher tonight to get him to give me a letter on offical school letterhead that I have never gone to class and then monday turn it in and then it will go to review or somthing to see if I have to pay or not. The reason for turning it in monday is because the teacher wants to meet a like 6 tonight so to late to do anything else today and I am out of town tomorrow. If they say I need to pay I might look into that school lawyer thing. The reason for being mad is once one person says somthing everyone jumps on. You know one time is enough. Just like in this thread someone did the bow down thing you know was that really needed did you feel that much cooler because to me I didnt feel owned I just learned that there was even a space for threads like this which I didnt even know were on the forums. I just get mad when we are all here to learn somthing and then no matter who makes the thread someone always has to say somthing stupid, not needed, or just somthing that could have been left out but no they just had to put it in there while the rest of us are trying to learn something. even befor i started posting i would get mad because there are so many thing that just need to be left out. Like I said befor if someone says it needs to be moved or go search befor posting just leave it at that dont jump in and tell the person the same thing. ok i am done i didnt mean to make anyone mad i just didnt like how rp did the forum change with the whole there is a place for that quoteing that guy then saying moved or what not. Yeah i posted in the wrong area and i am sorry i didnt know better but you know i was always tought to be nice and i took his way of doing at as very rude be that as it may again i am sorry but i just though how it was done could have been a little nicer for a first time mess up
