Apparently its a lemon?

I was at a local dealer the other day and snapped this pic of this guys truck (with crappy phone camera). Would you ever do this? I wonder if it got any results from his dealer. I am sure there would be a better way to handle his issue.

I've seen it done before. I would do it after I went through the proper channels and didn't get any satisfaction.

I've seen it done around town here. A customer of ours did it with an Aviator they had a lot of problems with, and eventually our DP bought the truck back from them out of his own pocket and they bought a Navigator.

I personally think it's a jackass way to go about things, but whatever floats their boat.

And after the vehicle was sold, the new owners probably never had another problem with it, right?

Happened to a friend of mine. Tried to tell him to take a couple of months as a "cooling off period", but he just had to get rid of it, to many problems.

He talked to the new owners several months later and the dude loved the truck. Said he never had a bit of trouble with it. Oh well.

There was a guy around here that had a novel written on his back window about what a lemon his truck was, and how you should never deal with that dealer... I guess it wasn't too convincing. I bought a 2003 F150 from them, and a 2004 Mustang GT...

Prolly. In their defense, their Aviator did have a lot of problems. Between me and a couple other techs, we replaced/built three rear ends for it, along with a miriad of other problems. Still, the lemon thing wasn't the good thing to do. They plastered on their ride about how we couldn't fix their car, how Lincoln sucks, how our dealer sucks. Ain't our fault we got junk parts over and over. The DP bought it back from them just to shut them up, I guess Ford shut them down for a buyback. Haven't seen 'em since the day they rode off in the sunset in their shiny new Navigator.

Back in the mid 70's, I was a Parts and Service Director at a L/M store in DE. One of the mechanics purchased a Bobcat [pinto] station wagon from the dealership. Being a mechanic he complained about everything and anything. We finally had to get the Ford Rep. to go over each of his concerns and let Ford tell him what they'd fix and not fix.

He wasn't happy with this and painted big lemons on the rear and side glasses. Parked it out front of the dealership, on the street, and stood there with a plackard stating that the dealership and Ford were screwing him and his family.

I had to go out there and threaten him with his job to get him off the street and back to work. He finally gave up on the laundry list of BS complaints and drove the car for ever.

My parents had a 74 pinto and never had a problem with it even with the exploding car bad rap they had.

One more story....I purchased a Lemon Law repurchase Mustang back in 93. The car had 3K miles and the women said it stalled all the time and always in front of a semi. We checked the car and could never get it to act up.

I put her in a rental and personal drove the car for one week, home and back and on all the personal business I did. Never acted up. She claimed it had stalled 10+ times.

I bought it for around half price. My wife drove that car till 130K miles and never had a problem with it. It was probably one of the best cars we ever had.

FYI--The replacement car, not a Mustang but an Escort, started stalling on her too. We never could get that one to act up either. When she went to Ford on this one....well they turned a deaf ear to her.

While that guy might have a true lemon, his demands are a little ridiculous. He should have just taken Dodge up on the offer to lease a new vehicle of equal or greater value.

geez, you think, I like this one.....what an idiot.

These issues have caused, and are continuing to cause, an immeasurable amount of suffering, grief, and inconvenience to me, my family, and to my business. I request a sum of $100,000 to offset some of this unnecessary hardship.

He obviously wants attention, so here is some more.
Besides, whats the difference compared to driving it around in public.
