"Yukon Jack is a taste born of hoary nights when lonely men struggled to keep their fires lit and their cabins warm..." or so it says on many a label I have seen pass by.

When sitting around the campfire, SoCo is too sweet, but a little Yukon Jack does the job nicely. Straight up, sipped...none of that ice and mixer stuff.

When in a social situation, however, Jim Beam and 7up is my preference.

If you're REALLY concerned with watching you calorie intake and such, then drinking shouldn't be on your radar at all. Maybe a glass of red wine with dinner but that's about it. If you really need to watch your carbs and other nonsense like that than any drink is going to work against you. The only thing you can do is what you're already doing, substituting diet for regular coke. To answer your other question, yes you have been missing something. Jack No7 Mixes better with coke than pretty much anything out there. Gentleman Jack is smoother & more mellow than No7. I can drink Single Barrel straight up/on the rocks until my liver hurts. I recently switched from diet coke/coke to ginger ale with my JD. My Flight Surgeon says I take in WAY too much caffenine. Jack & Ginger Ale is so smooth you would swear you're drinking a premium single malt.

KC-10 FE out...

Try some of the crystal lite drinks, the iced tea is great with vodka, if you can find a lemon/lime flavor you could do a mock whiskey sour.

V8 juice is a great mixer.

Actually a friend of mine drinks Crystal Lite with alcohol. Never tried it myself. It's probably better than Diet Coke because soda has salt in it. Thanks, Dave! Think I'll give it a try (too bad I didn't have that today).

Did you have a bad day?

Remember any day is a good day to drink. In moderation of course.

And don't let that no alcohol before noon, or you are an alcoholic, thing bother you. It will taste just as good at 8:00 am as it will 10:00 pm.

Should you start to become an alky, just turn to us we will help you out or spin you further into the depths of your disease or passion which ever the case may be.

Remember we are here to help.
