New Super-Carier Coming (CVN-21)

Photo (If you get a red x)

I saw this on "Discovery's The Military Channel" last week.
It's nto gonna be much larger than the currt Nimitz class, but it's going to be much more technologically advanced, with everything from on board communications, GPS location, defense systems, etc... It's gonna be a bad ***** (shut-yo-mouth), I'm just talking about the Carrier.

Still will have 4 screws, and able to do 30 knots. (That's moving for something that displaces 90 - 105,000 tons, plus. Twice the size of other countries carriers.

CVN-21 program

You'd be surprised how long it takes to get something new in the .mil
I do P-3 and C-130 Navy reserve aircraft and the GPS install was finished about 2 years ago. Unfortunatly we got a cheapo system. Not certified for primary navigation and no integrity checking. The C-130s are getting new Garmin systems we're buying of the commercial shelf in 2008. The AMP Avionics Modernization Program with new GPS doesn't come on line until 2012.

If they can put a Land Rover in a plane, and navigate by it's navi system, why the hell can't the military put GPS on all of our aircraft and in our ships?

looks cool my 2 deployments were on LHA & LHD's (carriers for helicopters)
took a trip over to the Lincoln when it was in the gulf with us in 03.

I think it should be the USS Ronald Reagan don't think he has one yet(but I don't know how they choose who they name them after)

It very well could be named after the person who pushed through the creation of it.

Give the man 2 Yeah my deployments were on LHD-1 USS Wasp and my second was on the LHA-4 USS Nassau ( i try to forget that ship)

I missed out on going on the USS Bataan & USS Iwo Jima's maiden Med cruise by 1 rotation on both of them. That sucked I was with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and we missed getting the new ship twice.
