Mothers Day Dillema

Here's the deal.... I've been promising a friend I would take him fishing the first time I got the chance...Well, forgetting that it was Mother's Day tommorrow, I told him Sunday. Opps..:o

To further complicate matters, my wife wanted to go out with a friend last night for a 'girls night out' (dinner and a movie). Well, this other girls babysitter backed out last minute, so my wife promised me if I watched her kids so they could go, I could go fishing on Sunday. Of course, my wife also forgot that it was Mother's Day and is now asking me not to go.

Do I make her stick to her word or swallow my pride and stay home?
Do I break my promise to my friend, or risk a full month of cold shoulder from the wife?

Or should I just go rent a motel room and stay there all day tommorrow so that I cannot be found by either of them?

You should skip the fishing and honor the woman who bore your children, the sacrifice speaks volumes about your commitment to her. And don't use it 6 months down the road as a bargaining tool.

Wasn't the answer I wanted, but I know it's the right one...

What you have in your wife and kid is worth more than anything else in your life

"I'm Gonna Miss Her"

Just kiddin' I seldom ever get to go fishing without my wife coming along. She can handle a baitcast reel on a Bass rod as well as any guy I know, and buying the last Bass Boat we got was HER suggestion...

Brad Paisley must be kidding too - have you seen his wife?????

Go Fishing Bro. Not like she's your mom; make your kids take care of her.

Disclaimer: I'm currently in the dog house.

Asked her to look through digital pictures and pick 20 to print. That was this morning. Come 10pm; she hadn't done anything so I did it myself. Now she's mad. I guess I was suppose to tell her when she could do it as opposed to her coming to me and saying "I'm ready to look through the pictures; can you get me started?"

That's all? Hope you're not on the couch for that.

She's just pissy and not talking to me. I'm about to go **** her off some more... "Are you planning to walk the dog tonight or is it up to me again?"

I'm sure your friend will understand when you explain that you forgot it was Mother's Day and would like to stay home and do something special with your family. The fish will be there later, if you choose to go fishing the wife may not be there later!

your friend is prolly in the exact same position, he forgot it was mothers day too. he's now posting on a forum somewhere asking this same question.

call him and tell him you'll go fishing some other time.
