New Bike (non-Harley)

Yeah, I know you all are tired of hearing my mouth, but the old man picked up a brand spanking new bike yesterday. A Honda CBR600rr, all black. This is going to be my track and soon to be race-bike.. As soon as I break it in (about 1000 miles), going to get race plastic, number plates, the works.

Here it is, and she is all black to, just like the F150

And here they all line up behind Big Dog..

Nice bike. I wish that we had a track here. The closed road course to here is 5+ hours away.

nice bikes.
i like the 600's they are great handling and fast in the twisties. i used to have a 1991 FZR600 back in England. i lost my license too many times on it though, thats why i haven't go another bike since. i don't know how to control myself.
Sound like fun racing on a track. i used to go to the motorcycle GP and the local superbike races to watch. Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Rainy

when you race, what kind of class and rules are there?

If you don't mind me asking, how much does a bike like that cost? Also, what kind of maintenance has to be done regularly.

That's a nice bike my friend has a 2005 CBR 6somethingRR, I think it might be a 650, but who knows. He loves it.

sweet deal. The rc is a bad bike. My roomate owns one and it rips! I just sold my smokin' joes sniff sniff. What the heck is that blue and white thing? :P

The 600rr is definately a nice choice for a track bike. A little low power wise vs other 600's but the handling is exceptional.

<--definately a big fan of honda

I'm not into bike racing, but I figured cehowardf150 might like this pic. Since I dont know jackchit about bike racing, I have a question for those of you that do know about it.

Is this normal as far as leaning a bike over to make a turn or does this guy have extra large grapefruits? I mean his elbow is slightly touching the ground. That's impressive in my book.

its normal.
the leathers have slider on them. most of the weight of the rider usually rests on his knee and the knee slider. a lot of riders get their knee down but not all get their elbow down. i used to scrape my exhaust and foot pegs on my FZR when i had it.

Nice CBR!! Most 600's are around 9k. They are pretty much bullet proof as long as you don't badly abuse them. Depending on how you ride, you can go through rear tires pretty fast.
