Choice of Defense

For those who live in states where its legal to carry concealed weapons, what do you choose to tote?
I first bought a sigpro w/ 40 cal and 357 barrels, but found unless it was cold in S. Fla.enough to wear a jacket, it was not very concealable.Ive since bought a Kel tec p3at w/ a pocket holster.I'd like to hear of pocket revolver options too!

If im just wearing a t-shirt I wear my S&W Airweight .38/w crimson trace laser grip in a paddle holster, it's pretty good at not "printing". I used to wear my Glock 27 on my hip but it got way too heavy and now I usually wear it on my ankle instead.

If I have enough clothing on to conceal it I carry a Kimber Pro Carry 1911. Otherwise I carry a Walther PPK/S. Both are a little heavy, but are proven to be great guns.

Glock 19, Speer 115 gr +P Gold Dots, one reload, in a Sidearmor IWB holster at around 4:00ish. I've carried 1911s in the past and while I love shooting 'em, I knew they were always there on my hip...the weight got annoying. If I find a nice Lightweight Commander (sorry, not really interested in the alloy framed Springfields, Kimbers, Paras, etc), I'll go back to 1911s.

ETA - And everything I've carried, from full size 1911s, to Commander sized 1911s, to a Sig P239 and now this Glock, all disappeared with the right holster under an un-tucked T-shirt.

Even tho I load my keltec w/ corbon powerball's,my 380 auto never felt comfy w/ my big hands.I think I might try a larger cal auto w/ a IWB @ 4 oclock like suggested...

Good stuff

Another ?,
What do those that chose, use for home defense?.i was thinking a shotgun, but had my mind changed w/ the 50 cal ar15 from Alexanderarms dot com.I read a good review from:

http://www.gunblast.com/50Beowulf.htm

Setup like this:

http://www.gunblast.com/ShotsintheDark.htm

Scroll down, the halo sight w/ the thumb operated light seems ideal...

I live alone so the 50 cal wont hit a family memberthru the drywall..if I did have family a shotgun w/ bird shot would be best...just ask Cheney...lol

I use this.

Benelli M1 Super 90 Tactical, since that picture was taken the only thing I've done was add a magazine extension on it that brings total capacity to 7 rounds. I use Remington 2-3/4" 00 buck. It patterned tightest out of anything else I tried and cycles the action reliably, and it's cheap.

Depending on the day I either tote a .45 Colt 1911 Commander IWB in about the 4 or 5 o'clock depending on what I am wearing. I also carry a Glock 23 w/ lasermax internal laser same way as the .45 or I have a Taurus .357 revover w/ 2 1/2" bbl that I keep on my ankle.

For home defense I keep the Glock loaded with 1 in the tube in my nightstand w/ an M3 light attached, I also keep the 1911 in condition 1 in my dresser, I also keep a Remington 870 18" 7+1 cap, with surfire front grip(built in light) and speedfedd stock under the bed loaded with in order slug, slug, 00, slug, 00, slug, 00. and a side saddle with all 00

For home defense I would stay away from any rifle, though you may not have anyone living with you a .223 has the ability to travel through exterior walls and into the neighbors house. As for the .50 on a AR frame, you better have ear muffs on when you shoot it or you will not be able to hear for a day or two. A friend of mine is local PD and has one, when I say its a beast that is an understatement. He used his to stop an 18 wheeler from about 50yds away.

Here are a few of my babies, I am working on building a 10mm out of a 1911 frame...can't wait until its done.

1911 Colt Commander in stainless
S&A Magwell
Wilson Beavertail
VZ Mycarta Grips

Glock 23
Lasermax internal Laser
Insight M3 tac light
Match barrel

RRA AR-15 16" bbl midlength handguard
GG&G rail w/ GG&G Vert. grip
Pictured is a Tacpoint red dot, but has since been replaced by an Aimpoint ML3

i now carry a glock 30, Corbon 230gr. JHP, +p, at the 3:30 position and with an untucked shirt it can't be seen. the only time it prints is if i bend over at the waist. i used to carry a Bareta 92. that was a bulky gun.

.50 cal through a rifle. Shot from the 10:30 position, the bullet went into the block, motor died, rig stopped.

Most of the time I carry a 9mm Taurus PT 111 in fist tuckable holster (shirt can be tucked over the holster)
In the winter I often carry my .45 ACP S&W 457 in an Uncle Mikes slide holster.
Sometimes I carry .357 magnum Taurus 617 in an uncle Mikes slide holster - it's a snub nose, but still a little heavy to tote around.

For home defense, my wife has a .380 ACP Firestorm close to her, the 9mm and .45 are close to me, which I would use to get to the 12 gague Remington 870 loaded w/ 00 buckshot - the guy Cheaney shot lived to tell about it, whoever gets shot w/ 00 buck wouldn't live to tell the story.

Wow,
Forget about the gun forums.seems an f150 site is best to post on...lol
Invalid_access,A tommy gun would be worth alota money today, but since I dont have a lisence(spelling?) to own a full auto,I could never get one.

A 50 cal beowulf @ 50 yds can pretty much penetrate anything,if not it will surely knock you on your ****!

01TruBluGT,Looking @ the glock in your pic, seems your taking advantage of the sunset on the AWB...I bought the 12 round clip for my sig since then...Nice pics btw.

Honestly I think Ill buy a 223 rifle and get the 50 cal changeover. That way I can shoot the cheaper 223's and have the 50 cal for sh#tz and giggles.
I was looking @ the ROCKriverarms setup
http://www.rockriverarms.com/item-de...TOKEN=50957138

thanks for the input all
