[QUOTE=wstahlm80]I do not have an anti-virus installed on my laptop.....never have.....I have not had a virus in the 4 years that I have had it........as long as you stay away from questionable sites and are smart about attachements....you will be fine.....QUOTE]

I agree, watch out for Lovetrucks website. I won't attach the link but it is www dot lovetrucks dot com. Her site may get you in trouble.

Actually, I'm not sure it is our "lovetrucks" site or not. It was just mentioned that it was her site in another post. Beware its a x-rated.

If that's true, then no wonder she won't post a pic in the other thread.https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=235275

I used to use norton internet security, but after dumping it for NOD32,I'll never go back.Norton hogs up too much system resources, everything runs quicker on my laptop now.I use nod and Lavasoft ad watch,i like how adwatch locks the registry..

AVG free edition for me...been using it for 3 or 4 years now, never gotten a single virus and I do my fair share of file swapping (although, I can't say I've ever even had one detected so...AV isnt on the top priority for me). Updates itself every night, runs the scan, I check it every month or so to make sure its still running and to see if anything turned up

Mcafee here. Norton crashed my previous computer so I am staying away from it.

I use the AVG free edition. Been using it for about 6 years and it has never let anything in. It does not do adware or spyware, but as long as you are not using Internet Explorer there isn't a problem.

It can be found at

I still haven't found that key, fortunately for me though there is something wrong with my keyboard and the space bar seems to work when needed.

thats a documented bug in Microsoft operating systems...has to do with a corrupt keymapping dll.

It took til the second page for McAfee to show up? I've had nothing but good experiences with it installed; and, I am not particularly careful about what sites I frequent. Same computer for about 5 years now... problem free.

Well you used a big word and fancy sounding phrase, so I'm sure that must be it. Surely you couldn't have made that up.

Count me in on the Norton crashed crowd. Granted it's only one out of the 4 computers I have running. Major fight on two of them just to get it to install on them.

I am using the free EPCC (Earthlink Protection Contol Center) from Earthlink (my ISP). But is very slow and slows everything down majorly....

I'll do some resarch on Avast, I have never heard of them before, but that's what I want, spomething reliable, quick and since it's not high profile. Not so much the taregt for hackers and slackers and virus programmers.
