Well, that sucks...

My Mustang auction on ebay ended last night. Started bidding at $10k. I got 2 bids... up to a whopping $10.1k

UGH!

I wasn't sure about it reaching reserve, but I thought for sure I'd at least get near it...

Never sold anything on ebay. Do you have to accept the offer, or reject it. I suppose you can reject it so it's still yours!!!!! That's a sign not to sell it.

No, don't have to sell it. I had a reserve set at $18.5 I had said earlier that if it didn't sell on ebay (or at least come close to reserve) I'd keep it, but I picked up Dad's '77 El Camino over the weekend. And I've kinda got myself hyped over fixing up my '76 El Camino. Even got a Tuned Port 350 (need some heads though) and overdrive auto for it... Possibly even an LT1 and auto overdrive if Dad doesn't use them... I even found a '71 Chevelle that's been tempting me...

and without the Mustang payment I can get the Belvedere done before the wedding for sure... well not "DONE", but driveable...

I think he said it didn't reach the reserve, (the reserve is the minimum price you are willing to let the unit go for) - If it had reached the reserve price he would be contracturally obligated to sell to the person.

You will often see listings with "reserve not met" at the top near the current bid price.

For Sale: 1967 Plymouth Belvedere and 2004 Ford Mustang GT. Will take best offer, or trade for good-running minivan. The wife says they've got to go -- a baby's on the way! Please call Closer9 at 555-5309.

Alright now...

I think she's accepted the fact that she'll be sitting by the curb before the Belvedere ever does...

What is it about your stang that makes it worth 18.5K?

Yeah -- just like my wife said, "Don't worry, honey -- I'll do most of the baby work...." as I sit here this morning and listen to my little 11-pound bundle of joy whimpering on his monitor....

Closer9, not trying to be a smart aleck here, but I have wondered the same thing UrbanCowboy has, what is so special about it?

Its a 2004 fully loaded low mileage (17k)plus exhaust, wheels, etc... and yes I know I wouldn't get anything for aftermarket equipment from a dealer trade, but the dealer sure as hell would want to charge you extra for aftermarket equipment even on a used car... and I owe 18.5 on it. kbb says its worth about 17.1 and nada says around 18-18.5 stock. Most people look at it and say well I can get a fox body for 5 or less, so that can't be much more... okay, whatever... and yes I've had a few folks say that...

I set the reserve at 18.5 knowing it might not get that high, and that I might take less, but I was sort of undecided at the time, so I wasn't going to take less unless I got desperate, but $10,100 for a 2004 Mustang???

I've been making high payments the last two months trying to get it down, but the more high payments I make the less money I have for Belvedere parts... and the whole idea of selling the Stang is really to get the Belvedere finished before the wedding. That was entirely my idea. The fiance in all honesty likes the Stang, but really has no care in what I do with my cars and my money... whether or not that changes after the big day, who knows...

Try relisting it. I have put many cars on there and sometimes you get no bids, somtimes you get more than you want. A buy it now is also a wise option. Do you have it listed on traderonline.com too?
