Question insurance?

We are shopping around for insurance and I'm hoping I can get opinions from everybody here about which ones to avoid and which ones you have had a good experience with. thanks.

I have State Farm and no complaints. Might not be the cheapest, but I have never had a problem with any claims. Unfortunately it is usually my insurance company that pays, as those that have hit me in the past don't have insurance. Also they have replaced at least one windshield in every pickup I have owned since '78. That's 8 different trucks, and one of those had 3 windshields installed.

I am only 18 and not too much experience with insurance. As far as what I have dealt with is one wreck for each company I have been with. I wasn't happy with Allstate's customer service. I am with Geico and they seem to be extremely friendly and almost like they really care about what is going on with you(hey does any customer service rep actually care?). They have been real helpful in explaining the process involved with filing a claim and even explained the legality of it all.

I've been with Progressive for about the last 5 years now and have never found anyone who even comes close to their price. I have had one accident with them (not my fault) and found their claims office to be decent enough to work with.

The thing I like best about Progressive is that they give you a substantial discount if you pay your full 6-month policy in advance -- I saved $119.00 on my last renewal that way versus if I had paid it off in monthly installments over the course of the policy.

If you're former military go with USAA, cheapest, no hassles.

I currently have State Farm and have no complaints. ddellwo, I have carried Progressive since I began driving at 15 and had them till 21, awesome customer service, fast claims processing, wish I could have kept them but the price they wanted to charge me for a new vehicle was outrageous.

I've been with State Farm for all 11 years of driving. Started with them because my parents used them. I stuck with them because I got great service and the've only been beat on price by no more than $2 a month. Well worth the service I've recieved. That being said, insurance is a rip-off no matter what company you go with. Way overpriced, 99% of people won't get out of their insurance what they pay into it. Its no more than a government sanctioned scam. But the best scam artist is State Farm.

Insurance, like most things is dependent on exactly what you want, your age, driving record, type of insurance, make and model of auto, where you live, credit score, (yes credit score) and many other things. I shop around every year for better insurance rates, it pays to shop around but for the last ten years I havent been able to beat Mutual of Enumclaw for me. For liability only plus um and medical, F150 and honda accord, two drivers with execelent history I pay $178 every 6 months for both. Motor cycle through Progressive is $75 per year. Hope this helps.
Ive had Farmers, State Farm, Allstate, Gico, Hartford, and others. Big difference in premieums. Customer service seams dependent on your agent.

I have to throw another vote at USAA. If you are military or former military, it is the only way to go.

USAA here as well. Don't forget. . .not only are you eligible if you are in the military but if your parents are USAA members that makes you eligible.
