I remember reading about this when it was first announced, before they even started building. I thought that the outer ring was supposed to be a bunch of small islands each in the shape of one of the continents.

And I have to agree with a lot of sentiment on this thread, they are too expensive for me, not enough yard room. I think they are safe from Tsunamii. The streets are wide enough for scooters and m/cycles. Why would you want to ride around in a car? Get your knees into the breeze, as they say.
