I remember reading about this when it was first announced, before they even started building. I thought that the outer ring was supposed to be a bunch of small islands each in the shape of one of the continents.

That's another project next to The Palm called The World.
The World
That's some amazing stuff. Now if I only had the money to buy one of those water homes...

:santa: Those places are so hot they are absolutely cool. And I have to agree with a lot of sentiment on this thread, they are too expensive for me, not enough yard room. I think they are safe from Tsunamii. The streets are wide enough for scooters and m/cycles. Why would you want to ride around in a car? Get your knees into the breeze, as they say.

Tourism is their long term plan for prosperity for when their oil runs out. Good idea I guess. Too bad the Alberta government here doesn't really have a long term plan for when our oil runs out.

They do. They have already started to move the dirt at Ft. McMurray to make the lake. You see, instead of making islands in the ocean, Alberta is going to make ponds & lakes in the North.
Check out the real estate, especially the mobiles.
