Screw other cars I want my truck sitting higher and more protection, thats why I bought a truck.

Email's sent cowlady.

And this (amongst other goofy laws and regulations favored by fruitcake states in the northeast and out west) is why I strive to stay south of Carolinas and east of the Mississippi. With a few notable exceptions, of course, I don't want any angry E-mails from you Texans.
Hey, don't forget about Virginia We ain't all that bad

I could say the same thing about your truck, but I'll try to refrain.

so if we've got to take ours off, nypd cruisers should take their bumper guards off too, buses should take bike cariers off the front ends.

Add the ban of brush guards to the list of inanimate objects of the day, accused of senseless killings of innocent people.

(accessorizing your vehicle is a right? I must have been absent that day.)

Good point in the above post. Let’s all remember that driving is “not” a right but rather a privilege. Accessorizing ones vehicle is also a “privilege” and not a right. The only right you actually have to driving and accessorizing your vehicle is the right to vote for representatives that modify you’re driving privileges as well as accessorizing privileges.

Those that fail to exercise their right to vote automatically give up any right to complain about laws governing your privileges that can be taken away at anytime while leaving you with no recourse…

I personally think cells phone use in a vehicle should be illegal with a mandatory 5 year prison sentence for the first offence, 10 year for second offence and life for the third offence.

How stupid, greater harm to other vehicles?- Guess we should ban tractor trailers then also.

The latest in stupid NY legislation is the new toll discounts for drivers of Hybrids. They list Honda's and Toyota's hybrids for discounts. This translates into an incentive to not buy American.

Well I chose to stay in VA rather than to return to my beloved home county in MD. Plus they build F-150's here.

Cowlady,

I will send some e-mails and I will also put this on my site for my posters to read and respond.

Then you would have to say it about all the new style F150's because mine looks like everyone elses. I haven't hung any aftermarket junk on it.

Exclamation Please & thank you!

Thank you to those who have sent emails or are sending - nditech, 04 RED LARIAT, PONY DRIVER, & oldnnew! I appreciate it so much!
For the rest I still want to say thank you for the comments. Please help us though - we need ALL the support we can get. I checked the SEMA site & there are 8 PAGES of pending bills when printed out! Some are SO redundant, some plain stupid & a few - A FEW - are legit like cell phone use & inspection fees. NYS is a place where politicians think we OWE them. They forget - THEY WORK FOR US! WE ARE THEIR EMPLOYERS!!!
If another state was having an issue they needed help with I'd help. If I have time I will be checking SEMA to see what other issues are going on around the country. Right now, I'm fighting this issue & have to focus all my attention on it. I have emailed & called 2 assemblymen (Gantt & Hoyt) & hope to be contacted back. I'll give them some time & do a c/b next week. This week, they're TRYING to vote on the budget & HOPEFULLY get it in on time! They NEVER do! Now, wouldn't THAT be a bigger issue than brush guards?
I did point out to Gantt's assistant that if we have to remove our brush guards & re-install on site more than likely they'll be re-installed incorrectly & that would cause major problems. She seemed alarmed by that comment. Don't forget - most brush guards are installed in a shop & I for 1 wouldn't know the correct way to install it - I'd go for easiet!
Anyhow, check out www.semasan.com & click on NY & also your states. It's VERY enlightening! Then, let me know if YOU need help in your state! I'll do my best to assist!
