The "guaranteed job" program isn't for when you get out of the military. It is what you do when you are in the military. If there is a job opening in the military that you want to fill then they will guarantee you the job in a binding contract. What they actually guarantee you is training for that job. You must pass the training/school. If you fail the school they put you where they want. They do not let you out of the military.

June and July for me. Thank God we were in the new barracks that were air conditioned. But I had to move into the WW II baracks afterward waiting on a school date in Biloxi. I still had a lot of fun there.

I went in in 74 and my oldest son was going in in 2002. Recruiters will try to staff the unwanted jobs by saying you're not qualified or just not knowing. I work with people now who were in during the 80s and wear glasses.

Your eyes don't have to be 20/20. They have to be CORRECTED to 20/20 if they're bad.

Hey UC...

My company looks for IT guys quite often. If you're good, you would start at about 60K a year base pay, and lot's of OT.

Just go here, bookmark it, and check in every couple of weeks. The HQ building where all the IT techs work is at 116th and Huron. You live right there anyway.

NO company around beats the benefits package at Tri-State.

Is that what you IT guys do? Surf the 'Net?
Man, if I had known that, I would have applied for every IT job I've seen. I thought you had to have a degree or something like that to be an IT guy.

Forget the AF B.S. and join the real military. You could be a controller in the Army and get an all expenses paid trip to one of 5 lovely installations located in either Oklahoma, Missouri, Georgia, Kentucky, or South Carolina. Then you would be wisked away to beautiful southern Alabama for almost a year while you attend school, and I can laugh at you while you're marching down the side of the road!
Who am I kidding, if I had it all to do over again, I would have probabbly gone AF:o

Join the Marines and go infantry. Maybe you'll get lucky enough to get to Iraq.
