Well the one that has been replaced you can just buy a replacement ball joint. The other if it has not, then you have to buy the control arm too. The first time change on my wifes explorer was little over $100 per side. If i have to replace them again then it's only like $35-$40.

For all new arms, it will be about $150 per side, just took a quick look at AdvanceAutoParts.com

as long as the upper had been replaced with a Moog otherwise the whole arm will need to be replaced.

if you get them from Advance please get the Moog. stay away from the cheap china crap or you'll be replacing them every year.
Remember what Tommy Boy said. "I can take a poo in a box and mark it guaranteed and all you get is a guaranteed piece of poo"

If the one has already been replaced then you only need one control arm kit and 3 ball joints.
IMO use Orielly Auto parts and make them price match. Orielly carries MOOG replacement steering componets, they are the best after market IMO. They price matched Auto Zone for $5 difference between thier MOOG and Autozones Duralast today for me. I'd paid another $30 for the MOOG if I would have had too.

Edited to add:
Ahhh, I didn't realize Advance carried MOOG too.

LOL...all of those prices were for the MOOGs, new arms all around. The newer arm isn't a MOOG, so I don't think it's serviceable.

Maybe different on HD.
They might not be made as strong so they might go out occasionally.

The 150 hass very limited to few on them.
Wifes exploder had NON... zero... zelch, from the factory. I spent 2 hours under it first time I serviced it trying to find atleast one I could cram some grease in. Dug my grease gun out for nothing.

It just dawned on me what you were saying here....

So you take a needle and use it to grease the non servicable joints w/out zerts?

What type of needle and where do you get it?

Wow Matt, that sux but I'm glad it didn't put you in the ditch. That's something I need to have looked at very, very soon. I have a clunk in the steering and the hubby thinks thats what it is.

Matt, my dad got one from the autoparts store. And I get my stuff from Advance because they are better than the AutoZones around here, and there aren't any O'Reiley's that I can think of. I'm trying to find it for you....

i got it from TSC. its a needle with a grease fitting on one end so you plug it in to your grease gun.
