GM recalling about 900,000 pickups

WASHINGTON — General Motors (GM) said Friday that it is recalling about 900,000 pickups worldwide to fix problems with tailgate cables that can corrode and break when loads are placed on them.
The recall involves 1999-2000 models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. GM said there have been 84 injuries, mostly minor scrapes and bumps, but no crashes or deaths linked to the problem.

GM, the world's No. 1 automaker, said the galvanized, braided-steel support cables that keep the tailgates in place can corrode or fracture over time because of moisture seeping through cracks in the plastic sheathing of the cable or entering between the cable's metal strands.

MORE

I didn't know GM was the WORLD's #1 automaker.

You don't need to search! It's on the flippin Front Page! Anytime you post current events, the first thing you should do is look at the first page of GD. Is that too much to ask for?

And to make it worse; you knew you were doing wrong. Get with the progam. All you have to do is type Control-F, type in GM and hit Enter! DUH!!

I'm just glad this isn't a Monday or you would have ruined my whole week!!!
