A joy to drive.

Just got home from a work meeting that was about 150 miles from home. I had taken my truck to it before but the weather was crappy and i had the winter skins on and a passenger. This time i went alone. The ride over was traffic filled, but on the way home there was hardly any traffic, so for a little over 2 hours, I just sat back and enjoyed the drive. It was easy to keep a steady 65-75 mph speed and when there was someone in my way, once the way was clear, it easily accelerated to 85 or so to make the pass in the short distance i had to work with. The ride is smooth and handling is very nice, I sound like I just bought this vehicle, when i have had it for about 15 months and slightly over 10,000 miles. (I also have an 03 G Caravan, that has about 60,000 miles on it, so you can see which one I drive most of the time.) It is comfortable to drive and ride, would not have wanted to do the drive in the Dodge I test drove, except for the arm rests on the doors, which could have been higher for my liking, it is roomy quiet. (Roomy, I am 5'11" and about 400lbs, so roomy is good)

I threw in cds in from, Buzz Poets, Rob Zombie, Bob Marley, Cheap Trick, Rage Against the Machine, plus a disc of MP3s, audio is very good, have upgraded speakers in the front, need to do rears and add an amp.

All in all it made for a nice drive to the meeting, but a very satisfying and pleasant 2 hour ride home.

Can't wait to get the Intake, fans, and tuner put in, it may make it even better.

Sorry for the late night ramble, just kickin back some before bed.

Hell, I love my truck, even in heavy traffic! Smooth and quiet until some lady nearly sideswipes me trying to merge while she's yacking away on her cell phone

Yep, I love going on trips in my truck. I commute 25 miles each way every work day and the traffic is rough, so I love it when we go on a weekend trip. Fun to drive.

I do about 30 miles one way to work, some back country roads and some 4 lane. Plus after work activities. I never paid much attention to how well it drove until the long trip last night.

Turned over 32,800 miles today in my '05, and in the 5-1/2 months I've owned it, I have almost daily enjoyed the experience you related. (btw, it was an easy day today, only 320 miles...)

Have not had to many long trips in my truck but the few i have had have been fantastic , passing one riced car on the highway I got a little carried away in showing him how it is done and hit 120mph. Solid and well behaved.
The wife never even complained, it was a throttle roll out starting at 70 mph.

Good fun

The other trips were all reasonable speeds except one passing some fool thet was pulling a trailer to fast so it was oscillating behind him, around the corner is a cop. 3 points and $ 90.00, first in speeding ticket in 13 years.
