Yea... I often have coffee in the truck, or flip through my CDs while I drive... I just learned to shift comfortably with my left hand

I rarely use it for pulling, more often it is to low and spins teh tires, So I have to lock it in second to keep it from going in to 1st. I didn't even know that it would take off in second til the end of last summer and some one on here told me about it. Has since helped me numerous times. It's my first automatic truck... can you tell?

Ok, searched and couldn't find it... How do you lock the tranny in second?

Put it on the 2. Ford autos if put in second, start and stay in second. Great for slippery conditions.

Good I dont feel so bad that I didn't know either.

But yea just put it in second and it takes off in second.
Handiest feature that I've ever seen in an automatic. (next to it shifting on it's own. )

Here is the thread where I learned about it.

I use low when I want to hear the engine rumble, the harley has a decent exhaust system stock on it. I love to hear the 4R70W scream too, 1st really whines if you let it locked in low. I've also taken advantage of the 2nd position for my yard, when it rains too much those 20's don't like the mud much, so I pop it in 2 and it starts in 2nd gear and I get out of the mud. I know chevy used to have this option in some of their cars, but they stopped it cause too many people were burning up their 4L60E's cause starting them in 2nd made too much heat in the tranny. I know first hand how crappy the 4L60E is because I toasted 3 of them before giving up and going back to the old school TH350. You want a tranny that is strong and noisy as hell, that is the way to go.
