Talking jobs that suck...

What has been your worse job/occupation?

I worked for three and 1/2 years at Cargil Foods...Beef Slaughter house...Kill Floor, Carcus load out, Hide room and Rendering.
I went for a coffiee brake, turned in my Knifes and equipment, and never went back..
To this day I can't work in a place that is noisey or that smells, or a assembly line...

I worked six months as a rough neck on a ( gas ) drilling rig, Physicaly, the most demanding job I have had..

I worked in Commerical and ressidental security ( rent a cop ) and spent some time working in psychic ward and a hospital emergancy ward..

Psychic ward? Is that where they put away tarot card readers, palm readers, mediums, and other prognosticators?

Worst job I ever had was my first computer job. The owner had to be the biggest ahole on the planet, fresh out of the Air Force, already had lost a good job for being a complete **** to the other employees, he fired me for "insubordination". What that means is he came in on a Monday and accused me of stealing a $10 cordless screwdriver that he had in fact taken home, and when he called his wife and found out it was indeed at his house, instead of being a man and apologizing he told me if I didn't like it, I could leave.

I won my unemployment hearing, he ended going bankrupt and then got nailed on federal charges for playing fast and loose with the bankruptcy court.

The hardest jobs I had physically were my favorites, I eventually got out of the computer business and got into landscaping and remodeling, couldn't be happier.

worst and best job was my first.

Working at a swim club as a kid for $3 an hour. (I thought I was rich)

Painting the pools, weeding, food prep, you name it.

My friend and I had to paint the lines on the bottom of the pool. Well we got bored and started sliding down the slope with the rollers...the lines turned out crooked but we couldnt tell until the owner started screaming.

Worst job, lasted one day. Worked at a feed mill owned by 2 brothers, one would come and find me, drag me off to do something for him, then the other one shows up shortly after and says i need you to do ....... This went on all day, at the end of the day they said see you tomorrow, i told them to figure out which one of them I worked for and give me a call. Never went back or got a call. One days paycheck was received in the mail 2 weeks later.

Also worked for a company that was given the job of cleaning up an oil spill from a tank truck rollover. What an F'n mess, it ran through the storm drains and down through the woods. After cleanup they only kept a handful of the people that were there. I wasn't one of them.

Best job would be a toss up betweenn what I have now, manager of an auto parts store, and one I had when I was in my early 20's, worked at a small service station mostly detailing and some minor repair. The owner and his wife treated me like one of the family, had a key to use the shop anytime I wanted, made a lot of extra cash doing things after hours and on weekends for people. Only made 6 bucks an hour, but always had 800 - 1000 dollars in my pocket, only time it was less was when i seen something i thought I needed, then had to refill pocket when I got home. Man are things different today.

Not necessarily the worst, except the pay...$40/week plus room and board.

However, the job was the summer after my freshman year of college. Taught waterskiing at an all girl YWCA camp.

Let me put it this way; there were some fringe benefits that made up for the lack of cash...

Worst real full time job was fresh out of college, went to work doing inside PLC sales, too much paper pushing, it sucked ***, lasted all of 1 month until I found that the the other guy in my division who had been there 4 years made less $ than I did, so obviously there was not much room for improvement. Now self employed industrial programming and instrumention which is way better in every way.

The worst job would be a toss-up between my two high school jobs. One was working in the hop fields. Yes, hops as in beer, we had to take the little baby hop plants in the spring and twine them - clockwise - around a twine so they would grow around it up the pole instead of lying on the ground. It was hot, you either squatted or sat on your knees to twine each plant and then on to the next about 3 feet away. . .every 3 feet. . .to the end of the row. . .about a mile away The worst part though, the hop vines are rough and by the end of the day your fingers would be raw from handling them all day. Most people wore gloves, but I just can't work with gloves on. So to any of you drinking Anhauser Busch products in the late 70's. . .I helped grow those hops!!

Second worst job, or maybe this one comes in first?? Hospital laundry. Hot, humid, and very repetitive work. Washing, drying and folding hundreds of sheets, towels, those cute little gowns they give you (back before they were paper) and doctors scrubs. The worst part, although I never personally saw this, was when you had to wash sheets that came in from the emergency room after a bad accident. The one girl who did most of the washing told me they could get pretty gruesome.

Never had a bad job. They all paid well and I enjoyed the work at all of them. The BEST job was in a liquor store. Lots of free booze. If you "accidentally" dropped a case, there was a pail with cheese cloth over it. You just slammed the case into the pail with the pointy corner down (after you tore a hole in it) for the booze to drain out of , filtered through the cloth, and into the clean pail.

I disagree....They would not know whether that job was good or bad....I would say that it would be the UNSUCCESSFULL kamikazee pilots that had the "worse" job....

I delivered pizzas for a brief time when I was in high school. Had a bad run in with a dude on Ft. Benning that had a little too much nose candy and a bad attitude, and decided it was time for a career change.
