Glock is a good gun...but I'd rather have a Colt 1911. A proven piece.

Glock all the way. Cheaper than an HK but IMO just as reliable. I had a G17 I used in IDPA and it was a fine firearm. Picking up another soon.

I have the 21 he has and a Sig 220, wanted the best of both worlds. I love my sig but I have no doubt in my mind it couldn't stand up to any of the tests he put that glock through. It's just like Ford Vs Chevy with guns but I really dont think anyone can say anything negative about them after seeing that.

Sure I can......it's a plastic gun.

I would take one, for free.

I keep seeing this thread pop up to the top, so I decided to open it and check it out. I was noticing where all you guys are from. Most are not from my area. Guns are really a topic of conversation in Jersey. The only reason I am mentioning this is because it amazes me the diffrences in the way of life from one state to the next. Just a comment, that's all.

So what? Just means you can clean it in the dish washer. I would prefer the lighter weapon anytime.

The 1911 like the one pictured is a beautiful gun, and obviously very capable as well. but the pricetag is QUITE a bit higher than a GLOCK right? I think for a starter after seeing that testimony the GLOCK might be the way to go since misuse and abuse don't seem to matter much.

interesting torture tests, but what happens when the abuse takes its revenge and he needs the glock to go bang but it just goes click snap.
i suppose he could ask his adversary to wait while he fixes his weapon
someone else mentioned hk's check out the mark 23 and the torture test the govt put them through t be acceptedd as a special ops weapon

I don't see what the big deal is with a "plastic" gun. The only thing plastic is the frame and my little Glock 27 weighs 3 times as much as my S&W.
It's really not that much different than a pistol with wood or plastic grips.

they do amazing things with polymers these days. I wouldn't really call it plastic, it's a very tough polymer that they use.

First off the 1911 although a highly reliable semi, has a problem of weight and the comfort grip. The damn thing feels like you're holding a 2X4. 2nd, The mark 23 isn't used that much in SOCOM units only in the clandestine units. The USP is used more oftan than the 23. Thirdly, I love my Glock 23 but the comfort of the grip has no comparison to the H&K USP. Semper FI!

It really doesn't matter. An an instructor I have seen every level of shooter with a variety of weapons, and 2 important points come to mind.

Use the best ammo,

and practice, practice and practice.

That is what will save your life!

(Although that 1911 shure is purtty!)
