Software question???

I bought a new computer for home and there are a few programs and lots of data files I would like to move to the new computer from my old one. I have heard of some software called AlohaBob that does this for selected files using a cable. Do you know of any other software that does this?

Intellimover. I used it to transfer almost everything from my desktop to my laptop. Seemed to work well

If you have XP try the Files and Settings Transfer wizard under

Programs
Accessories
System Tools

That will walk you through the process

If both machines have a NIC (network interface card), get a cross over cable and transfer the files like that.

On the back of the puter, look for a spot that looks like a phone connection, but bigger.

Note The old computer can be running any Microsoft operating system from Windows 95 onward, but this does not include Server products
