Letting off Steam...
My truck probably wouldnt stop in 150 feet, Considering it has oversized tires, and alot of miles. But, That is an average statistic, and it gives me a ballpark idea.

Well anyway, today (had my truck fixed for about a week) on the way to the gym, 3 people have screwed with me about the brightness of my headlights. First guy decides to flip his brights at me and keep them on, I turn on my brights (along with lows and fogs), all the saw where his hands blocking my lights. Second guy ( and girlfriend) is in front of me and decides to give me brake tests, he quickly learned I wasnt messing around when I damn near pushed him off the road after he brake checked me for about the 5th time. 3rd guy (and girlfriend) decide to wave hands and brake check (by now I am STEAMING) I flipped on my brights and got to about his bumper and let him know that THOSE were my brights and I did have my low beams on, then I turned off into the gym. I know that I probably shouldnt have messed with the second guy but he got the best of me.
Needless to say I had a good workout
. What does everyone think I should have done with the second guy, Keep in mind I am only 16.

But if you really are just 16 you have a lot to learn. My 22 year old just buried his best friend this past weekend. Speeding on an icy road and hit a tree. My wife and I drove by the accident site. Very very sad. They think it can never happen to them. I was only 16 when I was in a fatal accident. We were young and speeding and my best friend was killed. You can't turn back time.
Now you add road rage into the mix and it can snowball in a second. Many people have died as a result of road rage. This is your worse case scenario. 1. You can get someone killed and go to jail. 2. You can get killed and have your parents go to the morgue to identify your body. Don't ever think it can happen.
Bright lights can be very annoying. Adjust your lights while they are shinning against a wall. There are guidelines for this.
I'll give you credit for making an attempt at aiming them by counting threads but do yourself a favor and have it done professionallly.
Those silverstars are nasty and I admit that I have flashed a few people that had them on low. I just tell myself...My Bad...and drive on.
On another note...The last time that someone flashed the highs in my rear veiw mirror they didn't get the standard brake check. They got 100%, full on, borderline brakeline bursting, dead stop in the middle of the highway brake check. When I locked the binders I looked in the mirror all I could see was a cloud of smoke from my tires and their headlight swerving all over the place.

You are never gonna get rid of azzhole drivers. Believe me, I live in a tourist area. It's a way of life.

Like I said, Its one of my downfalls... Im going to put an effort towards changing. Where theres a will theres a way...
Yeah those silverstars are different from the stock bulbs. You probably need to adjust them different from stock. My wifes cars has them and I've never had a problem with it. In a truck anybody in a car within 200 feet of you is probably getting the full force of the beam.

Motorcycles are different.
BTW, someone already mentioned it prior to this.
You counted the threads to adjust your lights. That is not a viable way of aiming your lights. Use the proper technique of measuring the beam height at a predetermined distance. Once you have the height, then you can adjust the width pattern. Don't adjust them by parking side-by-side with another vehicle. It just doesn't work. There are sites that will tell you how to adjust your lights. AND the type of light pattern your specific housing puts out is important.
Also, if you have a load in your truck, it will definitely make a difference. I have seen WAY too many vehicles travelling up the Alaska Highway either towing a trailer or carrying a huge load in the truck box, and they haven't readjusted their lights. It's kinda funny, but sad too, to see a pickup loaded down driving along with his headlights illuminating the tree tops, but the road is still dark.
If someone flashes you, then politely flash back. What I do is pull the dimmer back for a fraction of a second, just to let the person know that I am using my dims. If they insist on re-flashing, I ignore them. If it's someone behind me, I will tap the brake twice, but not enough to slow down. If they insist on keeping their lights on hi, or if the lights are bothering me, I pull over and let them past.
Road rage can get you killed.
We were told to always keep a 2 second space between you and the car in front of you.
20 mph 59ft
30 mph 88ft
40 mph 116ft
50 mph 147ft
60 mph 176ft
at 60mph you still only have a split second to react in order to stop in the "150ft" range

You're right, I knew there was a 'second' in there somewhere. 2 seconds' distance between vehicles is right.
Funny story, though.
I usually try to keep that distance, but I have observed that if you stick to the rule, someone will 'squeeze' into that 2 second safety zone, thereby making you slow down to create a new 2 second safety zone....................ad infinitum
That is why not too many people maintain that safety zone.
