I thought I'd never say this, but GWB you are such a jackass. God only knows how much we need someone running this country like G. Washington right now.

An arab company responsible for our ports. Hmmm, common sense tells me it's going to be soooo much easier for a future terrorist attack. America is doomed when all we have to choose from is Skerry and GWB.

I know many of you guys support Bush in here and get offensive when someone talks bad about Bush, but look at what this guy is doing to this country. We have to get him out of office before he kills ALL of us (literally)

I would think your opinion on matters of great national importance would weigh heavier on our minds if you hadn't run over your garage or pulled your headliner outwhile driving looking for a rattle.

Without many of the international relations we have today the US would be nothing
As in "nothing" you're right. We would be debt free instead of over 8,000,000,000,000 dollars in debt to foreign bankers. America=OWNED.

And yes it affects you personally-the purchasing power of the almighty dollar.

I liked the guy but I'm fed up.

I don't udnerstand why Dems are for it, either. I've always felt Dems to be the ones open to everything, why are they turning away from free trade?

Also, wouldn't the US seizing the ports be unconstitutional? (just throwing that out there, I don't know if we'd seize them or pay Dubai World Ports for them).
This is the first time I've ever heard Democrats saying we should do something to protect national security...I'm not totally sure how this relates to national security since the US still has legislative control over what happens at the ports.
Come on now CrAz3D, what is this crazy talk. Didn't you read the first post?

"United states government approves $6.8billion port opperations to U.A.E."

George is going to sell our ports to the terrorists! What a nucklehead! What is he trying to kill us?!

What do you mean that the ports are already owned by a British firm, Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., who has made a deal with a firm, Dubai Ports World, which is partially government owned, from the United Arab Emirates? You mean that our country doesn't opperate some of it's own ports and hasn't for years? Do you know how many ports this terrorist organization owns?

I'm I coming off a little sarcasic? I should be. This is something I want to know more about though.

So, do we have an answer for this one yet? Was Cheney drunk when he shot the lawer that looks like a bird? Will we ever know?!

WHAT?
George Bush has NEVER vetoed anything.
He owns the Presidential record for lack of veto going back 155 years.

This is news. What in the world could have made old George utter 'veto'?
I really didn't think he could pronounce it.

My first reaction was " what the hell is wrong with him(Bush)" But, now that I read more, it seems to me that it really dosen't matter that much. The Chinese own a lot of ports in L.A. and security of the ports would continue to be handled by US. I would prefer that are owned/operated by Americans though.
I also find it interesting that liberal democrats are so against it. Aren't they the ones that try to cram political correctness down everyones throats?

Also, I do believe I heard on the news tonight that the UAE services our Navy's aircraft carriers. I guess that they're somewhat trustworthy huh?

This is true, they do it all. Dubai Ports World is State owned company of the UAE.

They are like our version of Haliburton.

The Bush family has been in business with sooooo many middle eastern dictatorships that saying no just isn't going to happen. If those aristocracy play ball with dubbya, they get what they want.

China wanted to buy a us oil company (UnoCal?) and Bush was all over it as a security risk. Funny, ain't it?

I'm so tired of this government. It's a disaster by every measure.

edit: As a matter of fact, here's the money angle: http://www.nydailynews.com/front/sto...p-333478c.html
