Talking Hmmm....My parents might be sewing Ford.

If you guys didn't know what happened to my truck, this is what happened...

Yup.

They arent sewing Ford just because the truck went into the house, because the thorttle got stuck when my mom was pulling out the driveway and she lost control. So, from what I've heard, my parents and my insurence company are probably going to sew from so they can pay for the damage that was done to the truck.

I dont know if this makes sense.

hell, I could have sued Ford for faulty brakes on my 04 F150 I had when hitting the garage, but then I had no proof it was the brakes so I couldn't get far without proof.

They'd probably just look at your vehicle history and your posts on F150online and declare you criminally insane, lock you away in a padded room and forget that you exist.

Sounds like another frivolous lawsuit to me.

I can toss your case right out of court right now.

I see snow in the pic. It is cold out there. A little snow blows up in the engine compartment, melts and then freezes again. I have had this happen while going down the highway before while holding a steady speed. Let off the gas to slow down and it just keeps going. Stomp the go pedal to breake the ice and it is all fixed.

Another possible cause..Ever had a floor mat get stuck under the go pedal? I bet I'm not the olny one.

Whatever the cause, I wish you luck and hope for a good outcome but just be warned, I'm not a lawyer or professional tech and I just gave two simple reasons for the stuck go pedal. You have an uphill battle ahead.

In the words of some famous dude in some movie:

Its not what you know, its what you can prove.

Yep, I can throw it out also. I had a Dodge van do that once and I took out some chain link fence and ended up in a ditch. My boss at the time pursued that option but negligence has to be proved, which was impossible at the time. Looks like you had a case of frozen throttle, that kind of thing is what insurance is for. Accidents are unintentional acts. Now if you had 100,000 neighbors with the same problem, you might have something.

IN other words, you need a much larger needle and thread to "sew" Ford.

Don't waste your time sueing dude, look at the year of your vehicle, 1998 right.... Brakes are a maintenance item. They will laugh at you. Just let the insurance co fix the truck and the house and be happy....

Hey Tard, if your damn brakes worked, the truck would not of moved, or would of stopped right.... It doesn't matter if it's the brakes, sticking accelarator pedal, it's still a maintenance related issue due to the age of your truck... or an issue with the driver.... what did the dealer find wrong with it??? post that information!

The throttle stuck opne on my 01 F-150 SuperCrew 4x4. I was coming up to an intersection with a red light and notice the damn thing was hard (NOT GOING) to stop (The RPM's were actually climbing)... I threw the transmission into neutral, so I could stop the truck and then cut the ignition off just as the truck was stopping and before the tac pegged... I stomped on the gas peddle a couple of times and tried to crank ... it started and ran like nothing was the matter.

Now, if my reflexes (and/or knowledge of what to do) was lacking they would have been scrapping my azz off a Cement truck's bumper. My smashed body would have been ticketed for running a red light by the police and the insurance company would have had to pay damages... Would it have been my fault (for not knowing what to do) or the manufacturers fault because they installed a faulty part?

I called my sales guy (friend) and told him what happened and he contacted the service department and arranged for them to take care it. They replaced the throttle body and some other parts and "suggested" this was becoming a problem with some makes they sell.

Tough call on where you draw the line of responsibility, when it comes to these situations.
