Im going to be buying a brand new i870 real cheap to replace my busted i860 that Im selling for $150. Now, all Im going to have to do is replace the current SIM card in the i870 with mine, correct? or do I need to get it activated? How much does that cost? Do the i870s save the music to the phone or do you need a memory card?

 

That's funny man, I just got off of the phone with Nextel Customer Service about 15 minutes ago. Wish you had posted sooner, I could have asked for you....

A guy I work with upgraded his Nextel phone, I think he had to call customer service to square his phone number away, but other than that I think he just popped the new SIM chip in and called it done.

 

everything should be saved to the SIM card. Should be able to just swap it from one phone to the next and its all good.

Just pop the SIM card out of your old phone and shove it into the new one and forget all about it. You may want to call C.S. to switch your insurance to the new phone though.

 

Does anyone know how many songs I can hold on the 32 mb memory card?

 

You need to make sure that the old phone has the same features of the i870.
If it comes with a new sim card just call nextel and they will change it for you. some features may not work right if you just switch sims.

It will hold around 3-4 but not the real long songs.
