The draft never bothered me growing up. It was a way of life. My wife didn't even follow the war back then. But she has followed this war from day one and I have seen tears in her eyes. She knows now that it could be our 2 boys over there who are in their 20s and word of the draft worries her. The older we get the more we hate the bloodshed. I don't know why. Maybe it's because they all look so young now. As a kid growing up next to a military installation they (GIs) all looked old to me and now they look so young. Old enough to carry a weapon but not old enough to drink.
7 out of 30 where I work are ex-GIs. All different branches. But there is a certain bond bewteen us that we don't have with our other friends. We also email articles to each other that is war related. We may not agree with the war but we will always back the troops.
Sorry to have pissed you off.

Our neighbor who is 22 just got back from his second tour. I sure hope he is done now.
Welcome home!

I support all you men and women there. Very much! Sorry about your friends. That must be rough for you.
your support means a lot to the soldiers overseas. I cannot explain how much it means to recieve letters from people who care. I have been without my friends for 2 years now, and I can say now, that contrary to popular belief, (The Media) they gave thier lives for something we believed in. While there for 16 months, I personnaly saw great gains in what we were striving to do. Countless times I had locals come up to me and say thank u for what we had done for them. I will never forget my friends nor their wives and children for thier ultimate sacrifice. For me, its just another day in the life. I just pray for my friends that are there now, and I am not to cover them. Nuff said bout that.

Hey, your first statement sounded like a left wing nut, and I thought there was disrespect intended for our troops. So yeah, that did **** me off. But now that you've explained yourself, I see we're on the same side of the fence. I too hate the fact of war, but something must be done. I don't think our govn't has all the right answers, but I do think it's one of the best around. Can't be the only remaining superpower with crap in the offices...

Now have a nice day.
Call the secret service in to testify!!
IMO, the time delay in reporting this, kills all the evidence, such as, breath testing. However, why don't we call the secret service in to tell their side. After all, they called in the Secret Service to tell their side when Bill was getting served.
This whole think reeks with falsehoods. No need to shift this topic on to the brave men and women who lay their lives on the line for our country, this is about a 5 time deferment, DUI person shooting somebody and not reporting it right away.. Period!!

I was in the grocery checkout line last night and read some more details on this story in the National Inquirer.
It seems this Whittingham guy that got shot was pregnant with the illegitmate child of **** Cheney.
When paramedics arrived they found Whittinghams arms were tied behind him
and the original explanation was that it was a suicide but, that got screwed up because he lived.
No word on the condition of the fetus.
