Sprint A900 by Samsung
Does anybody have any experience with this phone? I'm looking to upgrade from my Sanyo 8200 for this phone. At the moment, the phone is $350, but I can get $75 instant rebate plus another $50 from Sprint buying back my phone. Or, I could probably sell my phone to my brother for like $75 - 100, because his 8200 was destroyed by some jack *** punk kid. Are these phones any good? I was playing around with it the other day at the Sprint store, and it was sooooooo sweet
. It has a digital music player on there, can you upload songs onto it? Anything else I should know about it?

I've had mine for a couple of months and I love it. Works as good as any phone I've ever had. Don't care about all of the extras, just use it as a phone. I played around with the power vision stuff for the free month. Kinda neat but not worth the extra monthly charges to me. The music player only plays music downloaded from the Sprint music store. It's in a special format, not mp3, to work on the sprint phone. Songs are like $2.50 per song, what a ripoff.
The battery lasts about 2 or 3 days under normal use without using the any of the extra stuff. If you use that stuff alot, you'll be charging the battery every day.

I'm pretty sure they're good forever. There is some software you can download to save the songs on your computer so you'll always have them. That way you can put whatever songs on your phone that you want at the time. Don't know how many songs it will hold. It has built in memory, no memory cards. The built-in memory is 47.3M. I have 5 songs (you get 5 free) , 2 ringers, some pics and 1 video on mine and I have 39.2M available. When you purchase a song, you get it in the special format for your phone, and you can also download an mp3 to your computer of the same song.
Get this crap.
I went to the Sprint store just a little bit ago to buy it, and they are all out. Apparentely they can't keep them instock, and they can't preorder or request them, they just get what Sprint sends them.
When I got mine, they had just come out and the Sprint Store had sold out the few they got in. The girl at the store told me what days they got their shipments in and to call on those days. I did and they had 1 so she said they would hold it for me for an hour. I had to go right there to get it then. A few weeks later my daughter went to get one and they said they had about 50.

I've got the 8200 Sanyo right now, and it's the best phone I've ever had. It's been through some pretty tough stuff. It's been underwater, bashed, thrown, dropped, and I've even jumped onto it before on accident. Everything works great, except for it charges goofy sometimes. If the new Samsung V900 phone is half as good as the 8200, it'll be great.
I looked at that phone a couple of weeks ago for my wife. The salesman told me that it isn't the most "robust" phone they have. When I showed him mine (pretty beat up), he told me the 900 wouldn't last in my hands. I've heard the same thing about the RAZR, so it is probably more about the size and compactness than the mfg.
I had the same problem with ordering the 900...not in stock. But the salesman put me on a "hold" list and they called me a couple of day's later when it arrived. I didn't buy it because they tried to bait and switch me on the price...but I'll probably get one in a few months once they have the first price drop.
