heres what happend when i get a laptop in that wont power on or something and i fix it and find alot of personal documents like work sheets essays papers or anything i would think to myself well if i lost that stuff id want it back if at all possible. well this girl had family photo's and some school papers she was working on. well she had AIM it popped up when i got the computer working. so i wrote down her screen name and put the my documents folder on a cd. and when i got home i im'd the girl and she seemed pretty cool she said she didnt want it she had it all backed up. so i told her my name age where i worked. what had broken on her laptop and asked her what model she got as a replacement and she said same one. so i told her pretty good model only problems we see is from certain LCD's that are in them and then hard drive failure which is a plague all the manufacturor's have. she was pretty nice and didnt seem upset or threatened. i told her if u have any problems or got any questions feel free to ask i can likely help. she said okay. and i said well ill let u get back to ur homework. have a nice day. and that was the last i spoke to her. well 3 weeks later, today, about noon my boss calls me and my supervisor in to the office. hes like there was a lawsuit filed against acer and a police report filed against u for harassment and stalking , i was like wtf!!! i knew nothing about her didnt ask any personal questions i was going out of my way spending my own personal time not company time trying to get these files to this girl she said she didnt want em so i left her alone never said anything offensive or threatening to her and she was nice and cool about it. my boss was like well corporate is facing a lawsuit if they dont let u go. it was a breach of agreement i signed. hes like this has never happend before and blah blah blah. im like i dont remember that being in the forms i signed... if this has never happend before why would it be in it. so yeh either i was to be let go or acer would be in a lawsuit... so little man was let go to save big man. so yeh i got royally fugged from some biotch mom in california likely just trying to get money out of someone. cause the lawsuit would not hold up in court since the laptop was discarded and given back. and she was issued a replacement. no privacy disclosure agreement was signed or anything. so her personal files were not consitered personal. the company acer owned them now. so i guess its the last time i go out of my way to do something nice for someone... atleast from california.... so yeah im looking for a job now again...

yeah, why would Acer investigate... you IM'd someone you didn't know with information that was not given to you by said person. What's to investigate? You did a stupid move, came off as a stalker and damaged their image. I'd not only fire you but sue your **** until your on the street and poor.

If need to learn something real quick: You didn't get f'd because you were nice, you got F'd because you didn't follow protocol and/or common sense. There is a difference... a H_U_G_E difference!!!

About 12 years ago a friend of mine from work had just dropped off his 10 year old daughter at school. When he was leaving he noticed a stray dog scaring this little girl walking up to the school. Well he chased the dog away and helped the crying girl up to the door of the school. Well the next day the front page of the Atlantic City Press had a huge headline of a man in his 30s driving a pickup truck trying to pick up little kids at the local elemetary school. The City was abuzz to find this man. Well my friend called an attorney who escorted him to the police station. They resolved everything but he said it was a very scarey and embarassing situation.

This incident caused him to no longer be a good samaratan. He minds his own business. It's sad that society has turned this way because of a few bad apples.

I used to stop and offer whatever assitance i could to someone that was broke down along the road. It didn't matter male or female. Now I am very hesitant, and normally don't stop at all, but I feel bad for passing them up, but one needs to look out for themselves today, as there are Aholes out there that will make it bad for you, and unfortunatly they aren't labels so you could tell them from the decent folk. The good thing is that today just about everyone has a cell phone or two, so they at least can call someone, provided there is service.

I feel bad for him losing his job here, but i think a phone call or even the Im from a work computer on company time, with maybe a supervisors supervision, would have been a better choice.

but yeh good news went an applied at circuit city today for instore computer repair technician. 2 hours later the managers calls me and i got an interview this friday at 2Pm so wish me luck!! but im sure ill get the job.
