You can thank Lord Magma for that. He seems to be keeping a eye on you.

"The bible says it's evil to try to talk to the dead". help?

The very thing has been on my mind for several weeks. I finally asked someone for some help and got it. My questions were of the witchly and ghostly ways... Here's what I got back...

Leviticus 19:26, "Do not practice divination or sorcery" and Leviticus 19:31, "Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists for you will be defiled by them." Now, how I remeber it going is that even if you did go to a medium and did get to see your family member, it wouldn't REALLY be your family member but a demon posing as them. Neither of those scriptures say that. So is that really what God said or is it what the mid-evil priests, pastors or clergy put in there to serve their own purpose?

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Leviticus 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Malachi 3:5 And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

This is only some of them... Ok so all these are saying the same stuff. Don't do it just say no to witchcraft and talking to ghosts. I will likely never in a million years tell Jordan not to play with a DNA mutation laser handgun. Why? because they don't exist. (at least I don't think they do uh oh what if the sci fi channel is actually a news channel ;-) Ok so my point is that for God through the bible writers to tell us not to play with something must mean it exists. Ghosts and witches are real.

::a bit of relief for me there::

They're real but what are they. Well the account of Saul conjuring up the ghost of Samuel and Samuel condemning Saul for it means that at least the ghost of Samuel was really his ghost. But what about other ghosts. Look at the story of the rich man and lazarus. Rich man wants to go tell his brothers to stay out of hell. Abraham says nope sorry once you go to hell there's no get out of jail free cards and no weekend passes. So spirits that go to hell are stuck there. Then there's Lazarus over in paradise. Rich man says well can you send Lazarus. Abraham doesn't say sorry no can do on that either. He says it wouldn't work - his brothers wouldn't believe the ghost. So those spirits with God could if need arose come to earth as Samuel did.

But then there's also other spiritual beings - angels and demons (fallen angels). Bible says in 2Co 11:14 that the devil can transform into an angel of light. And we know he can take the form of a serpent from Genesis. So demons could change themselves to look like ghosts of people.

Summing up - ghosts are real. Ghosts may be saints sent by God for a purpose or Ghosts may be devils. Let's say the ghost of my dead granny who I'm sure is in heaven came to see me I'd have to wonder if it was really her or a demon pretending to be her. If the ghosts are hevenly bnbeings sent for good they'd do their business and be on. After all if you had the choice of hanging out with you and Stan or hanging out with God who'd you pick. So lingering around makes me think more on the demonic side. They may be helpful at times to throw you opff the trail. Rememebr the angel of light verse. Remember how used car salemen try to be your best friend so they can swiundle you? Then there's the Holy spirit who also speaks to us in a still small voice (1 Kings 19:12) That's my thoughts.

There were a couple sites to assist in researcing, too.

Good luck... I hope she grows up soon and starts dealing with people as an adult.

Okay so lets do a quick review here:
Talking to the dead is a sin.
This ladies tact leave alot to be desired
A good christian ia all reality would turn the TV off (if you look at the majority of the programming it is sinnful)
I was wrong before. Since Crist died before and he uses the Holy Spirit to "talk" to us that is okay because it is internal.
ALL christians are sinners. The only differeance is that we (including me) have asked for His forgiveness and have asked Him to come into our hearts.
WHOA, soap box! I'll step down because I know I could go on and on.

Well, I'm still a little confused as to her motives, etc... but she called again last night, and I talked to her for about ten minutes. I don't think the TV show was the only thing. I guess my fiance said something else. She didn't go into much detail, and I didn't press. She said she wanted to talk to my fiance, and that it wasn't that big of a deal like her husband had lead me to believe. She just needed to discuss some things and hopefully this would all go away... She said she didn't think my fiance even knew she was doing whatever she was doing, or that it bothered her... so...

Well, the fiance was out of town all weekend, and didn't get home till last night. I told her what was going on, and she seemed almost as confused as I, but willing to talk it out...

So, looks like we might be on the road to recovery...

Thanks all...

Do you think she might have been flashing them? You know, kinda like on the movie "Basic Instinct"? That could be cause for a one-on-one conversation to be undertaken...

I was thinking more along the lines of the "friends" are looking to experiment with a threesome....so they figured that the new woman in the group will best fit the bill.........

You know how those Baptists are....especially the ones in the south.........

Let's review:

In my response from a day or two ago, what was the only part of the quote I underlined for extra emphasis? -

yup, that's right, the "has a problem with my fiance" quote.

Once again, with very little info, Kobi™ knows what's really going on.

Why these questions, and others like them are not brought up in Just Ask Kobi™ any more is beyond me.

I'm here for you kids . . . just keep that in mind.

Comments are fine, just not those kind of comments. I don't post personal info often for that very reason. I know they're just playing around, but I want it to be clear I don't appreciate it, and I don't want to see it...

I'll update when I know more...
