Red face Dial Up

Yes, I admit I still have dial up. I guess I am reluctant to change. The main reason is that it is $9.95 and my computer is old as dirt. I can still do what I need to do though. I see a transition in the near future.

Dial up is a step better than a string stretched between two cups.

All I have out where i live is dial-up. The sattlelite thing is way over priced. I drive about 28 miles one way to work. I pay 15.00 a month and should pay for the year and save a few bucks. Had AOL when I first got a puter, they suck big time, can't imagine anyone would pay the price they get for what they offer.

No cable and the closest DSL is about 10 miles away.

We're about 15 miles from the nearest town. I've learned to do my grocery shopping for a full month instead of every week. We've got Directv because cable is many miles away so a cable modem is out of the question. DSL, I don't know how close it is, the internet company just says I can't get it.

Ok I'll come clean. I'm on Dial-up.

Also, my computer is made out of wood and I carved my own keyboard out of a block of government cheese.

(Wow, I thought I would feel ashamed but, I actually feel free)

I only have five pair of underwear and I stole three of them from my younger brother when I ran away from home. I call three days a week my 'tight days'.

My credit is so bad, I gave my goats names and order stuff through them. When 'Past Due' calls come in I hold the phone up to the goat for some 'goat noise'. Then I tell the collector that 'Raoul Jr' is disabled and ordered that Martini Shaker Set without my knowledge or permission. Then I tell him No, that is not liquer on my breath.

The second time I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy, I had so many scams going on I actually owed myself money and got beat out of it. I hate it when that happens. More than once I started a scam so good that I fell for it.
It's always too complicated to figure out whether I came out ahead or not.

I just hope I broke even.

Hey H...Good to see you back
To answer you question...If I wasn't working six days a week & if my health was better & if I lost 40 lbs. & if I quit smoking & if I had two nickles to rub together & if I was retired...like I was supposed to be by now, life would be better. At least my F150 is paid-off. Man those five years went by fast, and the truck still looks great. Every time I go into the garage and fire that thing up, I fall in love all over again.

I have dial up its the best thing since sliced bread down here in the sticks. There is no broadband, dsl, or any other new fangled things. We used to use smoke signals but when its windy they become hard to read and then it looks like a goat may have wrote it. I wish they would get with the 21st century but for now i guess SBC has me by the nads. It takes longer to send a picture than it takes to send a mission to mars.....and back. I did send a pic a couple months ago and it should be here any week now.. I feel your pain Habs and instead of driving to town to the fitness center maybe you could "walk" there.... then you could kill 2 birds with one walk....

The price of living in the sticks.

I've been on cable for 8 years, and now this takes a little something to get used to.

C'mon, fess up, you know who you are.
I'm on dial-up at the house.

But I'm on a T-1 at work. I do all my surfing and downloads at work, so why pay the big bucks at home to surf on a POS 8 year old PC? I refuse to pay the money for a new PC as well...

I can download anything I want... I'm the Network Administrator!!!

I also have a T-1 at work and dial-up at home. No cable out where we live and dial-up is so cheap. I pay a little over $8 per month with ISPWest.com. Yes it is slow but so am I!
