Stripped Oil Plug -- Opinions and Help Needed

Oil changes are sooooo easy. I don't need tools, or a jack.

Well, I hate to admit this but in the 91K miles I have on my 99 5.4 150 that I have been changing my oil for some reason last night I forgot which way my oil plug is turned to get it off and ended up stripping the bleepin thing. I use a creeper and come in the from grill side of the truck to change and I thought that pulling towards me which would turn the plug clockwise would loosen?? the plug. I tried the vise grips and hammer last night but with no success. Isnt the saying righty tighty lefty loosey, or did I mess that up as well. I guess maybe I need to here pull or push on this thing, either way I am mad and confused and need someone to get this figured out. I am picking my new plug tonight. Also is this metric or standard? For some reason 14mm is ringing a bell. Should I buy a socket for that or something else?
Thanks in advance FORD brothers for something pretty silly but hey we all screw up sometimes

So. Clockwise is right is tight. Anticlockwise is left is loose.
Hope this clears up your dilema.

Maybe there are some pills he could buy, and throw them in the crankcase....

Ok, so it's been long enough for at least a few oil changes for those that were going to buy the valve.
Any comments?
I just changed my oil today, and it only took about 10 minutes.
I really like this valve.

Like the half *** I am, I haven't bought a Fumoto valve yet. I'm in a unique position to where I've got access to a lift and lots of tools, so I don't really have a need to get that thingy, but it would be nice especially if I decided to start doing my oil changes at home.
Hey RP you could try using a helicoil. I had the same problem in my old 86 Bronco when Jiffy Lube stripped out my oil pan plug ...You can google helicoil or check out this link for a general idea.

I'm three or four in with a Fumoto on both my truck and the wifey's Explorer... I LOVE THIS THING... simplicity isn't the word.
Thanks again for the help and suggestions.

I had a Fumoto on my last vehicle and oil changes were a snap. One think it was recommended to do was use a brass crush washer with the fumoto valve. Supposedly the blue fiber washers dont do a great job at preventing leaks. Anyone have any issues with the blue fiber washer?
