So you're more worried about a random weirdo that may be anywhere, than the weirdo that could be sitting in a parking lot watching you and likes what he sees and gets your license plate to find out where you live. Sorry, I don't get it.

It's not the random chance of timing that a weirdo spots you in a parking lot.

It's that your plate number is on here forever, not just for the viewing of 88,000 members but, also the guests that outnumber members on here 3 to 1 at any given time.

And it's not just the 'plate number' picture post or Gallery post,

it's the thread much later that says, "I'm going on vacation for two weeks across country, I'm worried because I usually ask my neighbors to watch my house but they are going too..."

or "My husband is going on a six month deployment so, it's just going to be me and my guard dog, the chihuahua..."

Women have a whole set of issues to deal with on the internet that men don't and young men with bravado laugh at.

And reasonable man with women at the home to protect should use some common sense in what info he releases into cyberspace.

George Bush is collecting more information on us than is decent now,
no need to help the SOB.

Man, are you dense.

If it's sitting in the driveway or in a parking lot, the weirdo already knows where she lives.

DOH!!!!!!!

Blanking out the number on online photos stops people that have no idea where she lives, from finding out.

This isn't rocket surgery.

Rocket surgery?
I've never heard that one, that's pretty good I had to laugh.

I see this guy in a lab coat, a rocket lying on a gurney as he yells "CLEAR!" and hits it with the defibulator. Sudenly the rocket jumps to life and shoots thru the wall.

Man I need to quit watching cartoons.

I guess if you're that paranoid, you shouldn't be posting on the internet because I'm sure there's some way to find out where you live. And don't ever buy anything online with a credit card cuz somebody can get that info. And don't order anything over the phone with a credit card because some unscrupulous person on the other end might use your card number. Just sit huddled in the corner and everything will be alright.

There you go again.

You can't seem to grasp the idea that a tag number can yield all sorts of information, and is in the open with no protection if you post a picture of it on the internet.

That's a huge difference in using your credit card online, which goes through a secure server, and has all kinds of built in protection, so people can't get that info easily.

BTW, I have spent nearly 100K on line, using credit cards, but I would never post my tag number online, in the open. Nor would I post a picture of my credit card online.

See what I mean?
They already know!
I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they knew your plate number too.

This isn't brain science.

I think I am going to get a slurpee. I think a brain freeze might help me with the logic.

Thanks guys.

It really is pretty simple but I've come to realize that simple for one person is a huge taxing problem for another. Sorry to have caused such mass hysteria here, I didn't think the fact that I blur my plates was going to be the big new issue for 2006. I blur them, I will continue to do so and I personally don't give a rats *** who thinks its silly, paranoid and/or stupid.

I can't imagine how I could explain my concerns for my own safety to make it understood so I won't bother to try. I am a woman and in today's world I feel compelled to take certain steps to insure my personal safety. I own several firearms, I know how to use them, I lock my doors to my house and my vehicle, I have pepper spray in my purse, I have my email address turned off, I haven't given y'all my last name and I blur my plates when I post pictures online. If that makes me paranoid then so be it, call me paranoid (sticks and stones and all that). I'd rather be "paranoid" than "murder victim".

If your that paranoid, it really isn't a good idea of you to post pics of what you look like on the internet then.

I'm scared of some of you people around here. My fellow Georgians, I don't care that they know what my tags are, we're all Georgians. Some of you Texans, however, a Mountaineer driving whacko and one particular MIA guy from the Motor City...y'all don't need to know where in Georgia I am.

That's twice that I agree with Tritoneer. Maybe I'm really him/her. I'm so confused.
