Hell, some of the dyno's (and more specifically A/F ratios) I've seen on these newer vehicles, even COMPLETELY stock scares me. I won't even consider putting my CAI on my truck without monitoring A/F somehow at installation/run time to make sure it's somewhat safe. I think anything from the exhaust ports back is fair game without a tune, but anthing in front of the exhaust manifolds/headers requires the safety and security of piece of mind that comes from a little custom tuning -- not to mention keep it running top notch ...

What I see are canned tunes, and one canned tune where you can pay a guy to tell you what settings to put in the canned unit....after you do some datalogging. I admit, I've never used him..but I have done a lot of custom tuning (x-chrysler engineer) and something strikes me as strange calling that custom...no matter how many sales reps he has in the forum. I could create 12 login names and have each of them say I'm the second coming of christ...still doesn't make a canned tune into a custom one. Custom is what Westers, Nelsons, and half a dozen others are doing for GM's. Just my humble opinion of course, to be taken with a grain of salt.

..however, its styling leaves a lot to be desired, IMO.

2007 Ford F-150: New Hemi-caliber V-8 launches with the F-150 and will spread to other trucks and even cars in the Ford portfolio. Still in development, this 6.2-liter engine will produce around 350 horsepower.
2007 Ford Super Duty: The heavy-duty workhorse truck range will be redesigned. The 6.0L diesel engine to be replaced by a more powerful 6.4L diesel.

It just isn't important enough to justify buying a different truck over the F150.

Big deal...cheaper to buy a supercharger than to take on new payments....don't forget all the modding you will do to the new one...cause you know 350 wont be enough...we always want more...
My $0.02...
I can't really take MT (all this based on info from Feb 2006 issue) too seriously about trucks when they say:
1. A 3/4-2500 Diesel truck only has a payload of 1500lbs. Yeah right, I'm really gonna believe that a Honda has a larger payload than a 3/4 ton Ram .
WTF??? The 1500 was listed as 1050lbs. Where did they get those numbers??? Right from the Dodge web-site it's listed between 2650-2800 for the 2500 & 1550lbs for the Ram 1500.
2. You have no mention of how useless the inner bed (while I must admit, I like the idea, it's simply not feasable to make effective use of it. The one on the Titan in the side of the bed is a better idea) on the Ridgeline is. How am I suppossed to get to the spare if I have a load of plywood in the "bed".
3. The Mark LT is only 228lbs heavier but is 1 full second slower to 60 compared to the F150 FX4???
4. Funny how they don't make any mention of how much a total sales flop the Ridgeline is. Don't believe me??? Go by any Honda dealer. There will be lots of them. I must admit, I was wrong on this. I predicted on this forum that the Ridgeline would be a run away sales sucess. It isn't. I think part of that is Honda's typical "It's a Honda, you're paying sticker for it" from the sales people.
5. The RL needs a 4.33 axle to get moving, possibly contributing to its most un-Honda like mileage of 21 MPG hiway. If you give this thing a 3.55 or 3.73 axle, I'd bet it couldn't get out of it's own way.
All in all, the Ridgeline is an ugly joke. I could never see any "real" truck guy owning one. It is what it is: A POS yuppy wanna-be truck. MT should stick to cars. Even then, if it says Honda or BMW on it, no matter how out matched it is, they will say it's the winner of any comparison test.

I also wouldnt take MT's 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for crap. They just do not add up. The higher mph on the Ram would indicate a faster time is possible, but due to probably massive tire spin, they ran slower. Unfortunately guys, dont get your hopes up on that one. Ive driven a Quad Cab Hemi Ram, and even with the 20's I couldnt keep it from spinning like crazy. Also, nailing it from a high speed roll, you could really really feel the power. Also, there are many factors that determine 1/4 and 0-60 such as gearing and also tire/rim size. Like Ive said, Ive driven both my Scab 5.4 5.5ft bed 3.73/17's F150 and a Quad Cab Ram with the Hemi and 3.73s/20's and the Hemi is faster. But I want to line up with a Hemi Ram to see how I do. I know that sounds silly to race a truck, but hey, I like to get good performance out of my vehicles lol.
Wow, WTF happened to this thread?
I started this topic to talk about the F-150 (you know the truck we all drive), and how suprised I was to see that Motor Trend got the F-150 moving through the 1/4 mile in a faster time than the Hemi Ram.
