To TIP or not To TIP
When talking about a waitress at a restaurant, I have never left without tipping them, it may be small, but its something. I have tipped as high as 50% and as low as $1. I also learned, the other day, that you should tip a tow truck driver. What I don’t understand is that they say you shouldn’t tip your cleaning lady, that one makes no sense and I do not agree.

when I used to frequent the bars, I would always tip the bartenders extra, because they always hooked me up on drinks. Waitresses, now that is a different story. I will undertip, if they wont come by my table but every 20-30 minutes, if I see her chatting in the back instead of coming around to her tables and making sure my drink is full, my GF doesnt need more ranch, or napkins or something. I will overtip them, if they refill my drink before it is half empty, makes sure the GF has enough ranch, napkins, etc.. I pay for service, if it isnt being offered, then I will deduct for my dissatisfaction.

, but I have only heard that you double their 'one day' pay, at Christmas time. She has always done a good job, so I have tipped her for every day she works, and also give her the double tip at Christmas. After looking at that list, my newspaper boy has yet to make the paper land in my driveway, NO tip!
I even tip the cleaning crew at resorts and hotels. Especially if I'm going to be there for more than 2 nights. Tip is dependant upon how bad we mess up the room/cabin plus cost of accomadations.

Never the less, she was tested and passed.
She has a clean bill of health...........for now anyway.
It doesn’t matter to me if a waitress/waiter is only making $1 an hour they have to EARN a tip. To me a tip is NOT something that has to be given to make up for their wages. I think the way restaurants are set up as a business, as in the waitress/waiter only making $3 or so is a brilliant idea.
The reason I believe that is it actually makes them directly responsible for their actions. If they do their job correctly then I will usually leave about 20% for a tip. If they don’t do their job correctly I leave nothing at all.
When I leave nothing at all I never worry if they can pay their bills, feed their kids, or keep a house. That is not my problem it is theirs and theirs alone. Do a good job and don’t worry about bills and feeding kids because you will be rewarded. Do a bad job and oh well, so sad, I could care less if they become homeless…

I definitely think a tip should be directly related to the service rendered.
I WILL NOT tip a fat stripper. If she's dumb enough to think she's got the equipment, but does not in fact have what it takes to shake in a strip club but then she's a freaking retard to begin with. Now on the other hand, if the dumb broad is hot & has the goods I want to see and makes me feel special, she's getting George's & Abe's until she goes off stage...
For restaurants, I start at 10% & go up & down. Today at lunch was a good example. The wife & I were at a diner (one of the few good things about NJ, we DEFINITELY have the best diners in the country) and our waitress was a rude bitch who stank of cigarettes. We waited for about 20 minutes after finishing lunch to get our check & she never showed up at the tabel. We had to ask another waitress to bring it over for us. The bitch got $0.63 (the change left over from the check) for a tip on a $23 check. You want to give lousy service, you better expect to get a lousy tip.
Last years for New Year's, we went to Mortons in downtown Philly. The check for 6 people was $640. The waiter got tipped $160 (25%) simply because he was courteous, friendly & above all an outstanding waiter. We never had to ask for anything, he just showed up as if he was reading our minds. He wasn't hovering over the table either, he just knew when to show up. He eve brought the humidor from the bar to me just so I didn't have to get up to go look at it.
Tipping shouldn't be standardized, it should be earned...
