Doesn't really matter about the company vehicle though.
I totally agree that tip is based on service as well as food quality. Also, if my kids were totally unrulely I'll leave a little extra (& yes if they are too bad I will leave, even left before the meal was brought to the table, I took the kids out to the car while hubby informed the waitress to make it "to go" & left a little extra for the pain in the neck factor).
As for pizza delivery guys, again depends on service. I will give a couple bucks no matter but we have 1 guy who always gets extra. Heck when they tell us it will be 30-45 minutes & he's there in 15-20, thats a big bonus in my book. The fact that he loves our dog is cool too. Always asks very politely if he can pet him, even if he's outside by the gate. We ordered the other night & the guy delivered it, he asked where "killer" was (thats what he calls our bulldog), when I mentioned he was on the other end of the loveseat he asked if he could step in & wish him a happy holiday. Once he stepped in & called him, the dog looked around, saw who it was & jumped up to come over & greet him. Man that dog hasn't moved that fast in a while, he is such a sucker for attention.

Two points:
1) You should tip the other patrons when your children are unruly. LOL
2) Dogs love anybody that smells like pepperoni and cheese.
tipping is a good thing...
if you call the same place pretty much for take out or go to the same resturant for a good meal all the time then if you tip well they do definatly remember you and you get "better" service than the rest...
as myself and mrs. zap have been there and done that from the servers point of view they do remember the good tippers and therefourth you get better service...its only natural....

Just do yourselves a favor and tip. Especially if you're at a seafood restaurant.
You never know what's going to end up in the clam chowder...
Eating at a restaurant isn't the quid-pro-quo relationship we'd all like it to be. If you get the reputation for being a stiff, don't eat there anymore.
When I was growing up it was regular practice for kids to empty a tin of copenhagen onto a pizza hut pizza as an extra topping if they didn't like you. I didn't work there, but it was common knowledge at high school that it was done.

Well you just gave yourself away as one of the wannabes. I'm actually glad I don't know that hummers ride on 28's and as far as an idiotic comment??? that is a matter of opinion. Obviously you do not have anything constructive to say so spare everyone your sarcasm and go hijack other threads with your hommies that can relate and enjoy YOUR idiotic responses.
The two main items I use to determine the tip is how long my glass is empty and if you short change me on the bill. The latter is most improtant. I can forgive most other blunders, but if you goof up my change that is your tip plus .01. I always tip, normally I tip between 15 and 20%, but you do have to earn it with good service. The lowest I will tip is obviously .01, that way the server sees I tip but you stink as a server.
As far as the pizza delivery guy gos all of the piza places around here charge to deliver so I don't tip. A few weeks ago the manager of the one we always used called and asked why I didn't tip. He couldn't understand that if you are charging me for delivery then you can pass it on to your driver. I don't order pizza for delivery anymore.
Heck I even let one of my favorite waitresses out of a ticket. I quit going to the restuarant a few months earlier, because the food was bad, but she was an outstanding waitress.

I contribute a lot more to these boards than I have ever seen you do...so you may want to check yourself buddy. As for being a wannabe....anytime you want to compare education, jobs or paychecks PLEASE let me know.
Your comment was idiotic...I don't know anybody that drives a Hummer and big wheels that hasn't busted their *** to get where they are to be able to afford it. I find it idiotic that you would make a statement saying "20-24s" when you probably couldn't tell the difference between a 20 or a 24. I find it very idiotic that you would assume someone that can afford to spend $6K (or more) on a set of tires and wheels is a wannabe server at Deny's or what ever. 90% of those people are the single moms that REALLY need that extra $1 your worried about spending. So put your $1 back in your pocket and feel good about yourself for stiffing some poor uneducated girl that probably is doing the best she can under the circumstances.
I was away on business staying at a hotel in Philadelphia a few months ago. The restaurant in the hotel was really high class and the food was excellent, but the waitress was a complete snob - had a real attitude problem. Since I was going to be eating there for the next four days and the company was picking up the tab, I decided to tip her really really well to see if her attitude toward me changed - but it didn't. She was my server three of the four meals I ate there and her attitude never changed. The one night another waitress served me she was outstanding and also received an excellent tip.
What I like is when we go out as a family and the waitress is super nice to me thinking I am going to be tipping her while ignoring my wife who in reality is deciding how much to tip.
