The family is flying to Portland, OR for Christmas. We are leaving Christmas Eve and coming back on New Year's Eve. I am so excited about going. The hubby and I have a date downtime on the 27th. (A late anniversary getaway) We are staying at a downtown 5 star hotel next to the river with a river view....Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Christmas' always vary. This year it looks like we're doing Christmas Eve dinner at hubby's sister's house, and maybe some gifts... not really sure. My dad and his wife will be here (from Boise), staying with us, so I'll make everyone a big breakfast and we'll do presents. Hubby's parents said they might come by in the morning. Then some time in the day my brother and his family (including his wife's mom) will all come over for more presents and then a prime rib dinner! MMMMMMM!! I love cooking for my family and I love having everyone together.

I can't believe Christmas is only 8 days away from today!

I'll be home for the first part of Christmas, then I start making my trip to South Beach Florida!! It will be about a 12 hour drive from where I'm at in Ohio. I'm looking forward to the trip since it will be my first long trip ever driving before! Plus, I can't wait to get away from all this snow and ice we have here! I'm excited!

My wife and I will be headed to Coppell, TX, on Christmas Eve to stay at my sister-in-law's house and watch her two mongrels (a Yellow Lab and a Golden Retriever -- both ill-behaved!) while she and her fiance are in Florida over the Holiday. The other sister-in-law from Burleson, TX, will join us on Christmas Day for a little bash.

Christmas Night I will be glued to the TV watching my beloved Minnesota Vikings take on the Baltimore Ravens -- go Vikes!

Next year will be a big change -- the first with our son, who is scheduled to arrive in early March. Damn -- next year I guess I'll have to break down and actually put up a Christmas tree!

You dont have a Christmas Tree????

I've never had a christmas with out a tree.
Even when I was single and lived with 2 other guys, in a bachelor pad, we still put up a christmas tree.

Matt, we expect a full report upon your return.
Take a note pad so you don't leave anything out.

Nope.

Ever since the wife and I have been together (10 years now) we have gone away to someone else's house for the Holiday weekend. As such, we've never bothered doing the whole decorating thing. Next year with the new kid though we already said we'll have to join the rest of suburbia and do the whole decorating thing!

I love Christmas trees (real ones only, please) but never felt it was worth the time and trouble since we were going to be away for the Holiday anyways.
