Well..It's $144.00 a year for something you can get for free.

What's $144.00? Well..in 5 years that's $720.00.

If you invest it for 30 years a conservative estimate is $13000.00, probably alot more.

That's how I turned cheap, I'm why I'm on track to retire at 50.

I have XM and love it. I think it well worth the $12 a month. i listen to it all the time. most of the stuff on there is noway even close to regular radio. It like comparing free tv ( the local channels) to cable tv. i listen to more XM than i watch tv.

I wouldn't walk across the street to listen to Howard Stern!

I have a few friends who really like his show. However, everytime I see and/or hear him, all I can think of is what a shallow, boring, moronic, repulsive show he puts on! I mean really -- how many hours can you sit there and listen to someone talk about how great someone's breast are?!

I guess he's an acquired taste that I have never acquired......

For the youngsters, this is the same thing that was said about cable TV 25 years ago.

"I don't mind paying because there are no commercials!"

Well big suprise, dad wants sat radio all of a sudden. I never was interested in it, so I havent done any research on sat radio. Is there anything available to buy that could work in multiple trucks so he only has to buy one unit?

I love my XM.

It was worth every penny. Of course when you live in an area that only gets 6 stations, It wouldnt take much to blow my mind.

2 Country, 1 talk, 1 Christian, 1 pop, and 1 alt station.

When the weather gets bad all I can pick up is the 2 country and 1 christian station.

I liked Stern 10-15 years ago. We don't get him in NC; but, I've picked him up every now and then while travelling. Either he's lost a step or two, or I'm outgrowing him. I think he will be better on satelite where he can let it all hang out. Then again, maybe not.

I used to have XM and I hated it, there music stations sucked. Maybee it has gotten better since I left.

I have had Sirius for close to a year and it blows XM away. There rock stations are much better.

I've heard that. Most of my friends have XM for the sports channels though. I'm leaning toward Sirius myself.

A few months ago I was considering buying my radio listening and was leaning towards Sirius. But I'll be dammed if I'm going to support a company stupid enough to give that moron $500 million dollars. Might as well use $100 bills to wipe my ****. The more I hear about XM the less I think I would like it. So I guess I'll keep listening to my two local radio stations and flipping between them during the STUPID SCREAMING CAR ADS. And like Fats that money would better serve me adding it to my Roth IRA.

There are a few ways to do it. check out the satellite forum here or http://www.xm411.com/ or http://www.siriusbackstage.com/
They have some good deals out there now. you just need to decide whether you want XM or Sirius. both have free trial periods on there web sites.
