Think I'd have waited until he at least go to my porch then drug him the last 3 feet to the door.

Shooting a guy in your driveway might be a bit extreme.

I think the self-defense laws in this country are too weak. I think if someone is getting after you to the point you worry for your own life you should be able to kill them in self-defense, whether you are at a bar, at a sports game, at home, in your driveway or whatever. Not only that but if someone is breaking in to your house, your car, or your back yard I think you should ahve legal right to shoot them on the spot too.
This would take care of many problems, first off, crime. Who will break into your car knowing you can come out of your house and legally blast them away instead of just chase them off and call the cops? Also, the overcrowded jails could be slimmed down, since most people wouldn't even make it to that point.
