Skydiving

Most people have heard of the skydiver (yesterday), that was making her first solo jump, and both parachutes malfunctioned, and she hit the ground at 50mph. She survived, with facial damage, and some broken bones. She was wearing a half coverage helmet.

Anyway, a group of my motorcycle peeps are planning on doing a jump as soon as the weather warms up a little. I will be tagging along on this for this will be my 3rd jump. First one was a tandem, the second an AFF, going for another AFF jump. However, this time, I am will not wear a half helmet. When I jump again, it will be with a full coverage helmet just like I wear when I ride my motorcycles.

Back in 1979, I crashed hard on my motorcycle, I hit the ground at way above triple digits, and the full coverage helmet along with somebody upstairs watching over me helped me survive. From 1979 on, I always wear a full coverage helmet on my motorcycle.

My last two jumps were with half helmets, never again..

Poor girl, I'd like to sky dive someday but I need some kind of guarantee that my shoot will open, since they can't guarantee that I guess I stay in the plane!

Sheesh, on a scale of 1 to 10 of being timid, and 10 is the most timid, I am a freakin 20!! So, if you see me doing something, dam near anybody can do it.

The jumpmasters are professionals. You are more safer up there, and falling out the plane with a parachute, then in your truck! I think!

When I did the tandam,(jumping with a jumpmaster attached to you), he took care of all the "what if(s)". What if the chute doesn't open?, what if it opens and it is not square? However, when I did the AFF Accelerated Free Fall, with two jumpmasters holding each one of my arms and legs, and then finally letting me go, and I had to pull the chute, I had to do the "what if(s).. Just like that girl. But, my main chute opened, and I was still scared all the way to the ground. But, it felt good, real good.

She saw where her main chute didn't open, so she went after her reserve, and for some reason that malfunctioned. The odds of happening are really way out there.

I am jumping again, as soon as the weather warms up. Maybe we can get a caravan of F150s and we all ride to the Drop Zone for a jump.
