Just Raced a Titan!
I've been waiting for the chance to line up with a Titan, just to see how slow my truck really is. Well, tonight it happened. Titan was a silver 4x4 2 door with and aftermarket exhaust.
Luck had it we both came up to the light at the same time. I look over to try to see inside of his truck and can't see him because his tint was so dark. I wasn't sure if he was going to go for it or not, so I took a chance.
Anyways, light turns green and we both nail it, and are side by side thru first gear, once I hit second gear he starts pulling me. He pulling me pretty good but I was surprised I was able to hang with him at all. When we both let off I was at his bumper. I think he would have continually pulled away but it made me feel good that I didn't get killed as bad as I thought. Anyways, it was fun, thought I'd share. Time for a Tuner!

moving to general ! but thats pretty cool dude i had not as good luck as you however, i lost pretty bad a few months ago to a titan and i had my tuner, intake and my straight pipes. Now i think i can take one, there really not that fast once you have done stuff to these trucks.
I am really sick of everyone's fear of the all mighty Titan. Let's face it people, they are only a little quicker than our trucks. I have yet to run against a Titan, but I have with a Hemi and we were dead even. The Hemi 1500 is only slightly slower 0-60 and in the quarter than the Titan.
Our trucks are smoother and made with so much more sound dampening material that many people who drive them think they are slower than they are.
eBusa- Get that tuner and you will be suprised at how close you will be to a Titan.
And please people keep the "Why would you race a truck?" BS out of this.

^ so true, the titans really aren't that quick ! any f150 with some performance mods could beat one so whats the big deal ? now i can understand if someone said i raced a lightning or an srt-10 which are trucks only are trucks with extensive modifications could come close to beating but there titans, i think with higher gears and a tuner or trucks could beat them [plse tell me if i'm wrong] and with intakes, exhaust, pulleys and e-fans or trucks can run high 14's low 15's which is faster than both the titan, hemi and the chevys.
I crush those fugly Titan's.lol love the look on there face when they ask what i have done to my truck and i tell them its stock

I just test drove a titan, I will review it tomorrow! I have pics as well, it was a similar loaded titan, LE 4x4 with sound system and dvd. I could definitely smoke the truck, I timed it's 0-60, 8 seconds stock right on the dot. But it spun off the line a bit more than mine, so obviously it's low end is a bit better. I am not at all impressed and as you all know, I can admit when I've been defeated, I have about a 7.5 second 0-60 and my truck pulls much harder. But I also didn't have a slow truck stock, it was actually pretty quick compared to the stock 05 (similarly loaded) I drove (mine is an early 04). The titan has a sick rear power sliding window, it drops down like 70% of the entire back window, and goes behind the seats as opposed to horizontally, it also moves much quicker and smoother. That kinda pissed me off. Also, the seat backs are power unlike ours, only the lower portion is power. The titans sound system was pretty equal to mine, they have a 350w rockford fosgate and I too have the Premium sound option which has the Audiophile with subwoofer & 90w amp. I think they are pretty equal, but the bass in my F150 is MUCH MUCH MUCH better and cleaner, I am not even sure there is a subwoofer in the titan's premium sound. The dvd player in the rear looked really cheap, the outer rim is very thick so the actual screen is like 4-5". The seats are much more comfortable, and the interior is huge, but it's still plastic. I also noticed the RPM's rev to 6k RPM's...no wonder the tuners can't unleash much more than 10hp.
My F150 (one of the quicker ones when it was stock) would be lucky to beat it, might keep up pretty well though. I have no reflash. And wedgewood, shutup with those comments, my truck is pretty quick and I intend on making it go quicker, those comments are the most unfounded statements ever, tell that to Parish. I got smoked by a GMC tonight, man that was embarrassing, he had exhaust at least but he had to have done much more than that. My truck didn't feel like it was performing as quick as it usually does, maybe because I didn't have the fans hooked up, but I hate making excuses so it ends there.

IF you want power and performance, the F-150 is dead last. Tune it, chip it, supercharge it if you want to, but Ford did not make this a performance truck.
The F-150 and Ford are not in a user friendly relationship, this truck grew 700 lbs ( depending on model ) and only gained 40 hp higher up in the rev band.
I'm not convinced Ford improved the F-150 to the level they could have, except for the drive train, Ford builds the best truck out thier.
Ford is not into horse power races, they sell refignment, once the likes of Dodge and GM and Nissan can refign thier product to a level a head of Ford, Ford will be the slowest, least refigned truck out thier.

just some FYI, the titan has a bigger engine, more hsp, and more torque, plus a 5 speed tranny, which means it has lower gears. It will get a trailer moving faster then our trucks will...granted i am a die hard ford guy, but the jap crap can move

Is the 6.1 liter hemi really worth it? Seems like marketing to me. I'd rather have the limited edition Merc G500 with the stock supercharger and something like 500 lb ft of torque.

Id like to line up with a Titan just to see how I do, but I have a feeling it would kill me on the bottom end. We really really need a 5spd auto in these trucks, the 4spd auto has very early shift point with my 3.73 gears, and just overall awkward shifting due to the weight and lack of torque. With a 5 spd I could have lower gears and therefore be able to get more power to the ground and pull more. For the guy that said the F150 could pull more, uhh, maybe it doesnt occur to you, but a truck A has more power/torque and more gears(lower) than truck B than guess who pulls better? Im not sure why thats so hard to understand. More power + more gears to choose from = better towing. Honestly, high rpm power combined with higher gears from a 4 spd auto is great for a sports car, but for a truck it sucks.
