Actually until 1 year 3 months and 1 day ago I was shopping for a Dodge not a Ford.

Now that I've had this one, I would buy another one today!

I have actually yet to own a daimler product.
I really like a few.
The Jeep I had didn;t qualify becasue it was actually an AMC, so it was a Chevy, Ford, and Dodge with a Jeep badge.

My jeep and jeep dealer experience turned me from chrysler period. If I had a good dealer that would have worked with me on all my problems then a new jeep would most likely be in my driveway. Its a shame too, chrysler has some hot vehicles out right now.

Must be something with the company.

Our local dealer has never given me the time of day. I've stopped in when we were car shopping before and they wouldn't even get the keys to the any of the ones that we were looking at on different occasions for us to test drive! Needless to say they have never sold me anything.

Now, I do dress down when I'm car shopping, I don’t want them to think I'm loaded "which I'm not". But my hair is still short, my face is always shaved, I am well groomed, and we always have decent vehicles to trade in or have sold our used one and buying out right. I do my own financing before I start shopping so I am prepared to write a check for a vehicle that day. So I don't know what their problem is. Even though I'm in jeans and a t-shirt it's still a designer t-shirt, to be honest my loafers cost more than their slacks, shirts and ties put together. When I leave I have always had the impression that they thought the vehicle in question was to good for me.
After 2 or three chance I have given up on them and I won't even drive onto their lot now. They'd have to do something like have an everything for $5K sale to get me to do business with them now. Something I could buy five or six with out test-driving, pick the one I want, then sell the others to pay for the one that I want.

There is usually some used Chrysler products on GM or Ford used lots. So that would be where mine would come from, or an individule.

We are having that same problem with my wifes Exploder.
Has a vacum leak some where on occasion, and will start cutting out for a little while in the mid RPM range, once a week or so. Course when it does it it wont climb to high RPM's. LOL Also have to fight with the 4wd to engage because of the vaccum leak too. I've been looking for it for a year and can not find the leak.

Not all that bad really. Once the aftermarket folks have a positive displacement blower for it like a whipple or Eaton then this thing will be okay. Still not as cool as my Lightning, obviously, but neat nonetheless. Trying to push my buddy into getting one for this daily/tow vehicle.

That thing runs 0 - 60 in 4.8 seconds...
That's definitely Lightning (And C5 Corvette) territory, all with a back seat, and cargo capacity.

My two boys have Grand Cherokees. They are by far the two worse vehicles I've ever seen. I'm constantly working on them. New axles, new tranny, new tranny coolant lines, radiator, valve job, rear main seal, abs sensors, wiring, water pumps, alternators, starters, fuel pump, heating/ac, mufflers, catylic converter and a slew of other things. Both of these have been nothing but headaches for me. I've spent more money on parts than what these vehicles are worth.

That stinks... The old GCs are probably one of the worst ageing vehicles in the last 2 decades.

I think they're pretty cool and would'nt mind having one. Its in line with the TrailBlazer SS. Jeeps are great for off roading, but nowadays most people arent off roading in 4x4 SUVs. A lot of them are dominated by soccer Moms and business men/women, who dont want them to get dirty . It would be nice to see Ford come out with something to compete against SRT8 and the TrailBlazer SS, I dont see that happeneing anytime in the near future or far to be honest.
